PFT: Trent Williams believes Trey Lance will become a starting QB

I have no doubt, Shanahan wanted an instant miracle.

Williams did not hesitate when asked if he believes Lance will ever find himself again in one of the NFL’s 32 starting jobs.

“Yeah, of course,” Williams answered. “He’s a very talented guy, a very talented player. It’s unfortunate how his situation turned out here. I don’t think it had anything to do with his talent level or anything.”
Glad we cleared that up.

This actually a pretty strong endorsement from a vet player who has seen this kid up close and is well respected around the league. Still think Jerry is up something with this trade.

He could become a starter. I'm not sure he ever becomes a star QB.
It doesn't take much nowadays. If Big Mike survives this season, His offense will be tailor made for Lance . . . The kid is lucky to be here

His biggest progress blocker has a BIG TEST this week . . .

Shanahan found his quarterback with Purdy because Lance kept getting injured. The question with Lance is can he stay injury free. Next preseason will be very important for the kid. Hopefully the Cowboys give him almost all the snaps.

Yeah, he’s hoping Lance shows enough next preseason to flip him to some desperate team for a 2nd. If not…. Whoopity doo dah dipity doo… it was a 4th!

NFL fans today are extremely impatient. Even rookie quarterbacks are expected to win now.

If this was the same environment in the 70's we would probably never hear the likes of Bart Starr, Terry Bradshaw, Johnny Unitas, or Bob Greise.

I hope our new FG Kicker cold clocks Williams if he pulls any if that juvenile crap during warm-ups this game.

Unless Dak gets hurt I don’t see how he ever gets a shot here.

Even then he may not.

Jerry likely spent on 4th on Niner inside info and a very small bit of leverage against Dak in restructure negotiations.
