It wasn’t just the defense

It’s throws like this, where one is seeing the defense and throwing with anticipation so the WR is hit out the break, that completely defense. The Cowboys were set on stopping McCaffery and Purdy made them pay, period.

On the other hand, Dak is STARING right at his WRs from the slot, both running quick slants, both have inside leverage, but he starts looking to the right and sees the defender, pulls it in and takes a sack. It’s again an issue of slow processing time and a sack that is HIS FAULT.

Chaos theory tells you a few plays here and there can drastically alter the outcome of a game. That 3rd and 3 should have been an easy 1st down, extending the series. In fact, if he hits the WR lined up at next go the left tackle, not sure if it’s Cooks, he’s got plenty of room to run, meaning it could have been a huge play, 30-40 yard gain easily.

Instead, it revealed Dak’s was playing like a deer in the headlights immediately and his WRs may have started thinking “here we go again”….

When Dak is scared, even if pressure isn’t there, you often seeing him rushing through his progressions if he doesn’t go to his first read, like in this scenario.

He’s just a hot mess mentally when you need him to be the guy.

Our defense looks weak against good timing throws because they never get to practice against good timing throws during the week.
Then get a damn QB on the roster who can throw good timing passes. The defense will never get used to them if they never see them in practice. Rush? Lance? Is either of them better at timing passes than Dak? If they are then get #4 off the damn field.

He’s just a hot mess mentally. He can’t pick a defense apart. He needs the OC to spoon feed him.

Purdy is the perfect example of why I hate the obsession with "measurables." Simply because there are certain super-important qualities in a player that cannot be discerned with a tape measure or stopwatch (q.v. Brock Purdy, Kurt Warner, Tom Brady).

Why can't our guy make throws like this? It wasn't exactly a difficult pass to complete. Only 14 games under his belt and Purdy can already see the field much better than Dak.
.....may want to look at our team's route running and formations, to begin with. We're as predictable as tomorrow.

Yah where he has all day to throw, nice clean pocket, no one around him? Must be nice to be brock. Any qbs dream.

You do realize Lance runs the scout team, right? So in essence your calling for a guy to play who, according to the poster you're quoting, can't make timing passes.

Just a random thought
