Why did Dolly sing We are the Champions?

Am I the only one who thought that was weird? Did she forget what year it was? Or was she singing that for Jerry winning the Forbes bowl again?

It is one of the songs she recorded for her new album "Rockstar", so probably that. Rather that one than her version of "Freebird" to be honest (and actually that one isn't all that bad).

It had something to do with the upcoming Olympics in 2024, she recorded many rock songs for it. Dolly sure went for it out there but my wife said she should have worn white pants. She still could pull off the top half but the bottom half was cringe :muttley:

It wasn't my job, but I was embarrassed for her. It also felt like her outfit took years off my life. I was so glad to see our cheerleaders come out and put her star studded granny panties into perspective.

Let me tell you something. Dolly is still sexy as heck. Her husband is a lucky man. She was great yesterday.

Tribute to the Texas Rangers? They play right across the parking lot from ATT Stadium and just won the World Series…..

I thought the whole ridiculous spectacle was typical Jerry Jones. I wouldn't be surprised if someone in Jerruh's marketing department thought this up as a gag but Jerruh bought into it.
I really do have a lot of respect for Dolly as a singer, songwriter, entertainer and humanitarian. I really do. But I thought she had more class than to be used as Jerruh's pawn. Dolly's agent/handler should be ashamed of this.
And then the "We Are The Champions" thing took the cake. I've heard this is included in some recent recording of hers but this whole thing has Jerruh's fingerprints all over it.

Maybe we are the champions meant all of you as individuals

That the theme of the original

It's just a really popular song, and has been for decades. I thought she covered it really well.

She asked, "what should I sing?", shook her two magic 8 balls, and when the dust settled she looked down and they read, "We Are"______"The Champions"
