I liked how they kept fighting. This was a tough, gritty win in my opinion. I was convinced we were gonna lose well into the 4th quarter.

The defense has a bit to clean up, but came through when it mattered most. Dak & the offense were very consistent last night, & kept the pressure on. Good win. Definitely looking forward to our showdown with Philly next week.
Defense is going to have to do their part if the Cowboys want to beat the elite teams in this league.

Great post as usual ....... a couple of nuggets
* Gallup has talent......think we need to do a better job getting him involved early.
* Ferg has now locked down the starting TE position IMO.
* No excuses for more sacks with Parsons getting double-teamed most plays
* Our safeties have gone MIA......what's odd is they have made plenty of plays in the past so may be Quinn has changed the scheme a bit.
Safeties have been bad all season long, especially Wilson and Kearse.

Lack of pass rush is concerning.

The comeback routes for Gallup are a problem, he seems slow and lost explosiveness, they should cut those and send him in slants an go routes where he has leverage. Better give more snaps to JT and Brooks, but they won't do that.
Agree. Gallup should not be targeted on any route he has to decelerate and break down. It’s a disaster waiting to happen.

Thanks NY Cowboy -

Good comeback win. But for this team to win against the big boys this team needs to:

• McCarthy acceptance/declined penalty decisions has to change. A high school coach can make better decisions. Move the opposing team back. Especially for 2nd and longs.

• Need a Shaq Leonard now. Not great anymore but veteran presence could only help. Teams still run effectively against them.

• Mike’s red zone play calling at end of games is brutal. Run the damn ball on 3rd & 3. Run time off the clock.
I didn't mind going for the kill shot at the end of the game, but if the pass isn't wide open, Dak needs to take a knee. Agree adding Leonard would help this defense out.

The TD pass you say CeeDee should have caught in a tight window: Are you referring to the one that was deflected right in front of him? If so, I disagree. When the ball suddenly changes direction a couple of feet in front of you, it takes a good amount of luck to catch it.
I don't think it was ever deflected, just alot of traffic.

I was furious at McCarthy's decisions on that last red zone sequence. Made no sense to throw it on 3rd down. I would've preferred a run, & clock running. Would've been less than a minute left if when they got the ball.

I also would've gone for it on 4th down. If you get stopped, they have 95+ yards to go instead of 75. A touchdown would've beat us either way.
If they were going to pass, unless it was wide open, Dak needs to take a knee.

He is telegraphing his routes and never fights for the football.

Safeties Wilson and Kearse had bad games, and Gallup was non factor again.

may need to admit that Juanyeh Thomas, undrafted free agent, is better option than the guys you paid, and sit somebody in that safety group.

Also, may need to admit that Gallup should sit more, and spread those reps to others.

it would be a blow to the roster building egos involved.
Gallup's snaps have decreased as the season has progressed.

Seattle is way more talented than most fans give them credit for. That is the best back 7 our offense will see the rest of the regular season. On offense they have one of the top receiving cores we will see as well. We got a big break with the Walker rib injury that kept him out this game. Geno will eat you alive if you don’t pressure him. I was surprised at his arm talent. The Jets ruined the beginning of his career. It’s a small chance but if things break right the Cowboys could steal the 1 seed but would have to run the table.
No doubt they have a ton of talent at the receiver position. What is alarming is that the pass rush was non-existent against a poor OL.

The 40 second run-off probably increases your chances of winning by 25-30% going from 1:45 to 1:05. Just a horrendous decision there. Make the FG and Seattle barely has a minute to drive the entire field.

I don't mind the call, get a 1st down, game is over, but didn't like a 50/50 ball.

There was one, right near the front of the end zone that was up high. The defender got his left hand up and deflected the ball just a bit to Lamb's left. You have to look closely, because of the angle, nut I'm very sure of it. Of course, that may not be the play to which you're referring.

As I wrote my pre-game post yesterday, I knew this was going to be a very difficult game. Seattle was a very desperate team and the Cowboys may have been looking ahead to the Eagles, the so called trap game.

Offense

-Dak is playing with such confidence, outside of being stopped on a 4th down try, they didn't need to punt the entire game.
-Thought Ferguson had his best game of his career, this isn't a homer statement, but he is looking like a Kelce type of TE, excellent in yards after catch
-Tony Pollard is quietly running the football better over the last few weeks, we also have seen him run for TD's in back to back weeks.
-Lamb had an up and down game in my opinion, dropped a long pass, but got the penalty, dropped the 4th down pass and should of caught a TD in that tight window.
-Nice to see Cooks continuing to produce. Tolbert made a couple nice outside of box score plays, but Gallup is a mess, seems an interception is awaiting to happen when he runs a poor route. Want to see more Turpin, made a nice third down conversion.
-Had their struggles down in the red zone again, but did score multiple TD's.
-Steele had another rough night, but I think his issues this week were more mental then physical.

Defense

-So many penalties made it very difficult to get off the field, matter of fact Seattle also never punted the football.
-Bland for the 2nd straight week really struggled. Him giving up so much cushion on 3rd and shorts needs to stop. Had a better 2nd half, but needs to play better.
-Thought the linebackers really struggled in pass coverage, Seattle was eating the defense alive around the sticks.
-Terrible job allowing the Seahawks to score a TD before half without a timeout.
-To the defense's credit, they stopped the Seahawks when it mattered the most, back to back 4th down stops, when they couldn't stop Seattle all night.
-Credit belongs to Lewis, DLaw, Osa and Parsons on the final play. I guess we need to see a Ohio State receiver to get Lewis to play like that!
-Pass rush has disappeared the last few weeks, Seattle has a poor line like Washington and yet no sacks recorded.
-What is MM doing when he refused that penalty where Seattle would of been 2nd and 19 over 3rd and 7?

Special Teams

-Audrey made all his kicks, where Seattle missed a chip shot in the 1st half.

Although ugly, the Cowboys needed this type of win. Very important W inside the conference, which at worst puts them in great position for that 5th seed in the playoffs. If they would of lost, divisional hopes would be gone and the Cowboys would be fighting to get into the playoffs with their tough schedule ahead.

As for the Eagles, if they beat the 49ers this week, the division is basically over, but if they lose, gives the Cowboys an outside chance to catch them, but they would still be in excellent shape.
Good win. Seattle was desperate. Home dominance is key to continue to develop. We won’t have to hear about not beating teams with a winning record which is nice. Defense was not good though. Dak dilemma continues…man he is playing well.

The ten yard cushion Bland was giving needs to be tightend up. Like stealing for the opposition.
Shades of Dave Campo….but I get why he was playing off of Metcalf. That dude is TO and can blow past any corner in football if he wants to

Great post
Dak played great.
The 4th down was CDs fault not Dak
Ferguson is playing super. That TD was a great catch. Im very impressed by how ‘fast’ he looks out there
Lucked out big time with Walker injury or we’d have lost
Pollard is ‘mid’. Need a real RB badly
Get Leonard signed asap
Bland has picks but gets beat regularly. The cushion hes giving is crazy. He needs to get his head out of the clouds

Let’s give Seattle coaches credit. They out schemed Quinn for most of the game. That right tackle played well. Seattle has good bookends.

The difference between Dak early in the season and Dak now is startling. It looks like they are letting him play now and he is much more confident in the pocket.
Ferguson is not a Kelce type receiver, but he is way better than Schultz, especially run after the catch. We have to remember this is only his second year. He will continue to improve.
Lamb dropping that 4th down pass which would have been a 1st down was horrible, but how can you fault the guy the way he has played this year?
The red zone issues are still there. But the penalties inside the 10 yards line have to stop.
Steele missed a few plays but overall they gave Dak a good pocket, particularly in the 2nd half.

On defense, the pass rush did not get there but I saw a NextGen stat that showed Geno Smith was getting the ball out in 2.42 seconds, the fastest he has released the ball all year. The Cowboys still pressured him about 60% of passing downs. No sacks, but they forced a few bad throws and throw aways. Parsons forced several bad throws and Osa had him in the grasp when he threw a pass into the dirt as he was going down.

With the Cowboys ability to get pressures on the QB I do not understand why they do not play more press coverage to take away the quick throws.

The defense did not have its best night. The Geno Smith run up the middle was an atrocious lack of discipline. The left the entire middle of the field open in a goal to go situation. No one was there to take that run away. I could have run for that TD.

-Ferguson is showing an exception run after the catch abilities. Yes, still has to improve his route running, but he is just in yr 2.
-Seeing Bland play off 10 yards on 3rd and shorts is maddening, makes it so easy to convert.

Creeper just mentioned that Smith was getting the ball out faster then he has in the past, which affected our pass rush.

Dak Dilemma? What you don't think he is worthy of an extension?
