How do they select NFC East Champion?

So if we beat the Eagles on Sunday, both teams will have equal records, and each team will have split with the other team. We're tied for the NFC East title. However, what is the tiebreaker if one team didn't sweep the other? Is it the team's record within the NFC East? If we win out, do we take the NFC East or do we need some help from another team?
 
If we beat the Eagles and both teams win out after that, the tie breaker goes to conference record and the Eagles would get the division because we lost to Arizona and they lost to the Jets.

We will need help as Egirls currently own conference games tiebreaker .

Our loss to Arizona versus their loss to Jets is the difference.

If we both win out at 14-3 they win division.
 
IIRC, there was a pretty-much unanimous prediction on this board at the time that the ARI loss would come back to haunt us.

If both teams win out and have the same record Eagles win the division

We have wasshington

If we both win. We are 5-1 in division.

It goes to common opponents.

In order for the Cowboys to win the division, the tie breaker has to get to Strength of Victory. There is no way to currently see that. You have to wait for the games to be played out.

This is how it can happen. Cowboys beat the Eagles and lose to an AFC team. Eagles lose to us and the Seahawks or Cards. Then we go to strength of Victory.

That means, for example, we root for Detroit to beat Minnesota both times. That helps us. The other way around helps Philly. In other words, we want every team Philly beat to have worse records than the teams we beat.

Okay, that's complicated. Thanks for the explanation. Now, if we win out, and Philly loses twice (including the one against us), then that also gets us there, right? In that case, our record would be better than Philly's by one game.

This is realistically the only way we can win the division.

AT&T Stadium is the scene of a UFO sighting as Dallas grabs the lead here and now. Then the Cowboys will from that point forward be responsible for holding it onto that terestrial being. No excuses for denying destiny...any reason.

Yes. But I don't think that's likely to happen. If we win out, then we have a better team than I thought they were.

Let’s say Philly loses to Dallas and Seattle. Who can Dallas to lose the rest of the season to win the tiebreaker? Det? Is that it? Does that even work?

The answer appears to be yes. That’s the only scenario we get in 4 losses without Philly losing a divisional game. Highly unlikely scenario. Everything has to go perfect

This team essentially has to win out. Good luck w this guantlet

Philly's 4th loss is to NY (and ours isn't to Washington) OR...

Our 4th loss is to Detroit. That would give us the record against common opponents tiebreaker.

Those are the key games to watch if we win this week. Not that we should hope for a loss to Detroit obviously for the 1 seed, but losing that game doesn't hurt us much in terms of the nfc east

It’s going to be funny, assuming we win, when they show the NFC East standings with us currently in first place… Even though the Eagles will still control their own destiny…
