NFL.doubles number of overseas games by 2025

It's all in the plan to get to an 18 game season

6 home games
6 away games
6 overseas games

Money, Money Money. Too many Thursday night games. I forget most are even on any more. Too much. And let's add even more games overseas in Soccer Countries.

Yes, from a commercial.perspective it brings in more income.

But you also have to look at it from a sporting perspective. It helps with the global development of the sport, which is good.

Anyone thinking the NFL will ever make a real impact overseas is a fool
As a curiosity and so on yes
Ever enough for anything else
NO
Fact is that if you have teams overseas they have to play pretty much a separate season.
And then you are talking about thinning out the talent even more with more teams
ON TOP OF THAT do you really see teams wanting to move overseas;and expansion teams overseas will die in two years.
ITs all a complete fantasy
Just like those that keep proclaiming soccer is going to be big in the US. It might overtake Hockey; but so what?

The sport is much more than a curiosity in Europe. There are pro/semipro leagues in several European countries. Germany alone has 700+ teams and 60,000 players (the average US State has only 25,000 players). Many European leagues have been around for nearly 40 years. Sport has continued to grow.

The sport has stagnated in the US - overseas.

Unless the Cowboys play I don't watch them. The NFL is deluding their sports. A lot of bad games this year.

No it doesn't. Countries (Most of the world) treat our football like we do croquet in this country. They will never embrace it. NFL needs to give up that foolish " Growing the Game" nonsense.

You couldnt be more wrong. One of the biggedt barriers to the expansion of the NFL overseas is the lack of knowledge of many US people as to how big the sport is outside the US. The expansion of International games is lagging years behind the demand. You could play 50 games a year overseas right now and they"d all sell out.

You have the lack of knowledge. I travel overseas all the time and they never talk about US football. Basketball and baseball are much more international then Amercan Football. The biggest barrier is they don't care much about our football and never will.

:laugh:I live overseas and have been heavily involved in the sport in Europe for over 30 years . I think I know a little more than most!

Look at the facts. Then explain why the NFL is expanding overseas? They"re not doing it because there's no demand - they have to run lotteries for tickets as they're so oversubscribed. I live in one of the smaller European countries and we've recently had a NFL delegation here to arrange games in the next wave after whats just announced (c."26-28). I know from contacts in the sport several other countries have received similar visits. So there'll be more and more as the decade progresses and not just in the bigger countries. .So get used to it

Your facts are nothing but biased opinions. The NFL tries a lot of things that do not work; I do give them that they do not quickly abandon new things but all too often stick with them too long
Get used to the FACT that american football will never be more than a curiosity overseas
See I can do the biased opinion just as well as you do
I have lived in Australia, Philippines, Kueait, Germany and UK and I have never heard in one casual conversation in any pub, etc or anywhere else for that matter american football being mentioned
Well that leaves out Kuwait as regards a pub....

You lived in Germany and never came across football? Are you serious? Are you a nun in an encliosed order or did you live off grid! They get crowds of up to 20k at their own domestic league games - top division is professional.
