Pete Carroll out as Seattle HC

Whoa. That is a surprise. He and Vrabel both are shockers to me.

I assume he’ll be hired elsewhere pretty quickly. Hope Seattle doesn’t poach Dan Quinn now though…
wow. didn’t see this coming given how they’ve fared in life after russ. i’d absolutely expect quinn to take that job if offered

"Fired" isn't really the appropriate term for this event, inasmuch as Carroll is remaining with the organization.

According to the Seahawks' press release, Carroll's role is "evolving."

(Didn't see this coming at all.)

What evidence is there that Dan Quinn covets the HC job in Seattle?

I'd rather have Al Harris down on the field with the guys, as opposed to up in a booth calling plays as DC.
LOL. Don't be so naive, Kay.

This is what you do when he's been there for a while and had success. I guarantee you Carroll didn't want his position to evolve himself out of the head coaching gig. He was fired.

End of an era.

Those Legion of Boom teams really were generational defenses. We witnessed football history.

If this is it for Pete, he took Seattle on quite the ride.

Question: Should McCarthy be fired while Quinn takes the Seattle HC gig,..could a Pete Carroll
possibly end up in Dallas as new HC ..?

In a win now mode, i have the feeling that it's gonna be a current, existing vet HC with a proven resume,
..or a new HC with an existing proven resume (Carroll)

He can go for all I care, getting tired of the DQ show every year as soon as the playoffs are about to start. It's insufferable, see ya.

Who you like as DC if DQ leaves?

Mike Vrabel perhaps? Jerry has deep enough pockets, and I think Vrabel, being a former Linebacker, would be a great choice. Plus, if Belichick or Tomlin (he was drafted by Pittsburgh) stays in for another year, I could see Vrabel perhaps taking a DC job for a year here until that spot opens. Especially if Jerry opens up the wallet for him.
