Playoff football is won and lost in the trenches

We aren’t a running team, we aren’t a good running team but we tried it the first couple series, and it was 0-14 before we knew it. We were beat after that.

Been saying it for years. Our Oline and putrid Oline coaches are a huge problem. Their performances (or lack of) affects everyone and everything else offensively.

If the packers had the ball and it was 3rd and 3 or even 4th and 3, I know there’s very little confidence in our ability to get a stop. The same for our offense. If it’s 3rd and 3, I have little confidence in our picking up the first down. Dak would’ve had to play flawless and throw for damn near 400 yards to win today and it still would’ve been super close. That’s not a team that’s going far in the playoffs and that’s what we keep running into every year

Apparently it's won/lost because something about Jerry and country club. If we were tougher on offense we would've pushed defenders further off the ball for Pollard. Lol niners most physical team in the NFL have an intricate run scheme. They don't line up and just run straight at you. But again.......something something Jerry.

Agreed. It's why I feel our lack of having a great DT has been an issue. Just undersized up front often, or lack of great rotation on the D line.

I'm right there with you. I was puzzled by the back-to-back runs to start the game.

My fear about this team all year has been that they're a front-running team -- and that certainly came to bear out today. Give us a lead, and we're great. Punch us in the mouth and force us to duke it out with you and, well, meh. We're OK at our best and punchless at our worst.

And a lot of that goes back to your point about the trenches. The interior of our defense was soft.

It's all about scheme and game-planning instead of just talent. We've drafted 1st round OL over the last 10 years and still have the same results. The Packers OL had a 4th, 6th, and 7th rounder starting on the OL but because their coaches actually emphasize scheme and know how to attack the opponent, they looked dominant.

Garrett and McCarthy just aren't those types of coaches that are needed in today's game.

Yeah the defense was trash but the QB had 87 yards passing 1st half and was incredibly lucky not to have 3 picks. Your agenda is obvious. Maybe some day it will dawn on you the QB is a bad team beating fraud.

On every 3rd down this game, we rarely came with pressure. We even dropped Parsons back in coverage lol. Even on a 3rd and 4, Bland was playing 10 yards off and even took a step back on the snap. Pathetic. Dan Quinn is no better than Mike Nolan or Rob Ryan when it gets down the games that matter most. This defense is soft up front and soft in the secondary.

If you want to blame the QB for the low passing yards, then go further and blame Ceedee. Had 2 terrible drops that stopped drives. Both right in his hands.

This whole defense is a bad team beating fraud. Parsons is the defensive version of Dak. Looks great against the bad teams. Against the good teams, especially playoffs? Disappeared. Where was he today? Where has he been in any playoff game in his entire 3 year career? Dude is a bum when it matters most. But I'm sure he will get on Twitter and run his mouth this coming week like the clown he is.
