Dan Quinn to be Commanders new HC per Schefter

Hear me out. This is Jerry world. Mike McCarthy Head Coach of Offense. Bill Belichick Head Coach of Defense.
Didn't a team try this approach?

I wanna say someone tried this, or maybe I'm tripping.

Where are you getting Shannahan not picking Lance from? I’ve never heard of that.
Was reported that Shanaahan didn't want him but GM did that's why the trade of 3 1s

And if you don’t think that the Jones’ affect what coaches do/don’t want to coach here then I don’t know what to tell you.
Not sure what you're saying here. Does GM have ultimate say, yes, as does any team. But what coaches look for in traits comes directly from the coordinators to McClay team. The scouting dept then goes and finds those players with traits.

This is well known fact.

Overall and as a whole, Quinn did jump the forced turnover rate for us, especially among the DBs ala CBs.

- He schemed Donovan Wilson is roles and spots that maximized his skill set.
He flexed it for Parsons in a various ways as a pass rusher to emphasize the " War Daddy ".

But Quinn could not solved the poor run defense - just as Rod Marinelli could not either.
And his defense followed Marinelli as it was best when it could play downhill and we could generate a score lead
enough for opposing teams in a catch-up, all pass mode.

Quinn's scheme was built off small and quick play.

Against the better playoff oriented teams, it had difficulties going physically toe to toe with playoff oriented teams that would
commit to running the ball. - and it cost us again big time in playoffs vs Arron Jones/GB.

Very odd playoff plan and scheme vs GB as well.

Didn’t see this coming. Ben Johnson staying they had to pivot. Hope we get someone exciting to replace him.

OK so the the board is now officially off the rails. Bellicheck is going to agree to be someone's coordinator and Dallas is going to trade Parsons for a draft pick. What's next?

Exciting? To come coach under a lame duck?

Only thing exciting would be BB as asst HC and have him take over next season if/when it goes down the drain.

Pretty much. I thought they would go a different route. Former Dallas coaches to Washington do not have a good history.
If you don’t have an established QB, you need to hire an offensive coach to find/develop your QB.

Arizona hired Gannon after Kyler was established. Atlanta hired Quinn after Ryan was established. Vrabel did well in Tennessee because they brought in established QB Ryan Tannehill.

Belichick after Brady couldn’t develop a QB. Vrabel before and after Tannehill couldn’t develop a QB. Mike Tomlin inherited Ben and now can’t develop a QB. Ron Rivera got fired because he couldn't develop a QB. Vic Fangio was fired in Denver because he couldn’t develop a QB. Keeping Eberflus to draft Caleb Williams is a huge mistake.

My bet they go cheap and hire Joe Whitt Jr. If you’re going all in go find the best IMO. Someone that will build the D around Micah. They will panic and hire a retread….

not sure about little else considering his sb w/ seattle and turnaround of the cowboys D. also considerably younger. also obviously not their first choice.
As a HC specifically, Rivera is a very good DC as well (as you may find out very soon). Quinn beyond the SB year had a lot of mixed results in Atlanta, nearly identical to Rivera in Charlotte

I think it's a big loss for us. Mostly because he was the best we are gonna get. Jerry is going to either promote from within, because it's the cheapest and easiest option, or he's going to force a friend or retread on Mike to make him 'uncomfortable'.

Regardless of how it ended, we were lucky to have someone of Quinn's caliber and now we are destined for the likes or Marinelli, Nolan, etc
