His main driving point will be the season he just had, is he worth 60, or should it be something less? We all know it's an agents job to get the best price for their client, but has he earned it, will Jerry/Stephen give him what he wants???

Yes, that is what today's QBs will get when their contract needs extended.

Brother, Dak has earned a contract extension that is above $50 mil/year pay, but it doesn't mean he should if he truly wants a better playoff quality team around him. If he truly cares about the Cowboys and wants to improve his chances to hopefully reach a championship game, he needs to accept $40 - $42 mil/season. That is waaaay enough pay per year for a franchise QB. The same goes for other key starters when their 2nd big contracts come around. Be like Tyron Smith and help the team with a discount after you have already been paid a big previous contract.

He’s earned nothing.

If he was paid what he has earned he’d be making a better living selling cars back in Mississippi.

Luckily for him though you fail up in Dallas. Thats why it’s a loser franchise.

Agreed, and have been saying it.

I heard Jerry say that they need him to “work with” them.

France ain’t gonna want to hear it, and they don’t exactly have all that long to get it right before free agency, although it would be a good excuse to pass, in which case an extension/restructure isn’t necessary.

This is gonna be interesting and by no means is it a slam dunk done deal.

Many moons ago Jimmy Johnson made the comment that if you're going to get rid of somebody you'd better have a suitable replacement ready. As usual, the Cowboys have seemingly painted themselves into a corner with few options,,, unless they're ready to put Trey Lance in.

He’s worth what the market allows. We all want our teams QB to take a team friendly contract.

If Dak were to re up for less than $45M per he would become my favorite player on the team overnight.

$60 million? Ha! He's not worth $40 million.
After three straight years of playoff disappointment,
I'm not sure he's worth $30 million.
Winning the NFC East is the new SB for the 21st century fans. I'm sure some fool will be eager to parrot
"12 wins! 12 wins". Smh

We couldnt win with him on his rookie salary

Couldnt win with him making $40m

Yea lets pay him $60m. Maybe things will be different!
He never counted $40 towards the cap. Not even close. So you’ve shown you don’t know what you’re talking about and neither do the yahoos who like your post.

Dak will be signed and given a huge bonus so that his cap hit is far below 60 million. If you were going to let his avg be 60 million, then you might as well let him play it out at 59 this year. Ignore all the stupid numbers. Ignore how much cash Dak pockets. Who cares? It’s not our money. The only thing a Cowboys fan should care about is what will Dak’s CAP hit be in 2024 and beyond. No other numbers are relevant.
