Worst case scenario is he does not make the team. Playing left guard in the NFL is not easy. Where do you get off assuming this guy will be “awesome” at it? You have no clue. This goof could be playing for the San Antonio Brahmas next April.
I read a lot, and the ESPN crew tonight said the same that they seem him at RT.

This might be more an indictment of Steele who by all accounts had a bad season. Tyler Smith has shown he can play LT.

Its makes me sad that Kansas City just won a Superbowl .......yet they are aggressive and trade up to make their team better...... while the Jones clan are beta males that trade down.
We need players.

Dallas made the right move for our team.

We got cap crippling contracts and we need extra picks.

We took a non-premium position last year with Mazi Smith and not only was his impact always going to be minimal he isn’t very good.

A center isn’t going to make a big impact.

Trade down, fill more holes, and improve the OL.

Nice job imo.

I said that Guyton was their guy and that's who they would end up with. I don't like the pick especially when Barton was theirs to be had. I understand picking up the extra pick but oh well.
Yes, Barton was my guy, hoping he would last, just a few picks away from us. However, that third rounder from Detroit is valuable and Guyton just needs work and coaching but has all the tools, so I will see how he develops before I crap on the pick.

Well Guyton isn’t better than Tyron Smith right now anyway. We didn’t get better today.
True. But was there an OT in the draft better than Tyron right now? I don't think there is. We got worse when we let him walk.

But we do have some athletic potential to develop....I hope. Been a tough off-season.

We turned Tyler from a penalty machine to an All-Pro, so I'm not counting Guyton out. The pick seems kind of similar, an unfinished product with all the measurables.
He is still a penalty machine All pro. LOL

Jeremiah had Barton # 22 and Guyton at 26. So they look like pretty similar rated prospects. I would have preferred Barton but will wait to see what that extra third brings.

I think people view Barton as the “safer” pick.

Less chance of busting.

But Guyton has an even higher ceiling than Barton. Just more risk of
Busting.

But they also got the 3rd so.

If they can now land a center, RB and LB tomorrow. Could be a nice draft.

Got to meet this kid - watched him practice. He's a freak according to his team mates

The trend these days is to go for traits.

There are no blue chippers left

I applaud this pick, because if you aren't going to trade up for a blue chipper (Arnold wasn't one...pure zone CB), Then the next best thing is to take a guy who COULD become elite.

Guyton was impressive at the SB.

I'd rather take a shot at a guy with AllPro potential, than a guy with a limited ceiling. I'd rather trade BACK than just take a safe, boring guy who's ceiling is "competent starter"...and Guyton could be the next Lane Johnson at RT (Lane Johnsons himself lobbied the Eaglea to draft him as his heir apparent(

I rip the urine-soaked senile liver spotted yellow toothed Jerruh as much as anyone....but this was a good pick.
No he wasn’t they just said he had a lot of trouble trying to play left tackle
