Be wary of James Conner's injury history (link).
 
Thanks for posting as it could be that Jones have in mind to pick up one experienced back from this list besides Zeke who is higher rated than I thought
 
What about Dameon Pierce. Looked great as a rookie, got passed up last year, and struggled. Not a world-beater, but just looking for something.
 
This is what Jerry thinks is still a starting RB in the NFL.

Zeke had 184 carries last season and his longest run was 17 yards.

Stevenson behind the same oline had 155 carries and a long of 64.

His last season in Dallas 60% of Zeke's runs were for 2 yards or less.

Yea, my guess is at least a few could be available...... for example, the Jets drafted 2 RBs ( both were my pet cats lol), so is Beece Hall available?

Reading up on him it was some discouraging things and for them to sign Mixon.....pretty much says its the end of him there.

Zeke will not start here. That's the least of my concern. I think Dowdle is the guy right now.
 
Guys in here getting far to wound up about Zeke.

There is 0% chance he starts the season opener.

The transition from David Mills to C.J. Stroud contributed to Pierce's decline in his second season. Opposing defenses were not intimidated by MIlls and the Texans lended more on a run-oriented offense, in where Pierce shined best.

DeMeco Ryans brought in a San Francisco style offense for running backs, with the run/pass ratio offsetting what defenses would key on. Ryans brought in Devin Singletary, who was more experienced and adept in catching balls out of the backfield.

Singletary adjusted pretty seamlessly in the new Houston offense and nudged Pierce into a backup role. Houston's offense was now geared more for the pass and Pierce run/pass ratio favored was moreso 50/50 still to the run. Defenses keyed off on Pierce running the ball since he was a far lesser threat catching the ball out of the backfield than Singletary.

Not sure how Pierce would be utilized in Dallas' offense. I think his sophomore year taught him he should hone his pass catching ability so it can be a more viable asset in his game.

It is a shame how things have progressed for him. I followed him closely during his rookie season. Even drafted him as an RB3 for my fantasy football team last season. The C.J. Stroud era did not do him any favors.
