Cowboys number 1 of fewest drives ending in a punt or turnover

The more stats you pull up on the this team the more confounding they are.

We’ve got offensive numbers out the wazoo and defensively last year they gave up the 5th fewest points and yards ( less yards than the Ravens and 9er’s) through 17 games.

So what gives? They just turn to mush on both sides of the ball in the playoffs. It’s not just the O or the D, it’s inexplicably a collective suck.
It’s simple football 101. You will not be successful in the playoffs if you can’t run the ball and you can’t stop the run (you know control the lines of scrimage) or if you don’t have Patrick Mahomes. It’s not rocket science so I don’t get your conundrum.

Expect a few more articles between now and training camp that reference how well the Cowboys played overall this past regular season.

Add to that...the ranking period is about to start in earnest ...
when individuals, entities, media, and organizations involved with the NFL will create or seek out opinions on rating players, position groups, coaching staffs, front offices and owners of the 32 teams.
Same goes for every team in the NFL.

Dak haters are such weirdos.

Yes, Dak SUCKED vs Green Bay. Duh.

Has ANYONE said otherwise? Why is that brought up in every single thread?

Dak's still our guy because there's nobody better available than the reigning MVP runner-up. He'll make boatloads of money to play QB for the Cowboys.

Cry about it?

And if he doesn't get extended, are you going to lay down and cry too?

2-5 in the playoffs.

Dak is great in the regular season and chokes in the playoffs, its been established and proven.

No, I'm not a weirdo like you crybaby haters.

I loved Romo too and when we chose Dak over him, I was cool with it. If Trey Lance shows us he could be the franchise QB, GO TREY!!!

I KNOW you'll be crying like a little girl if Dak gets extended though.

The game was over way before that. WAY before that.
History begs to differ. Even 2 years ago we had Lawrence throw 4 first half INTs and be down 28-0 at half and win. The game was over because while the offense was bad most of the first half, the defense was historically bad all game.

Sorry, if the cheesehead drives down the field for a TD, your O can’t come out and go 3 and out. You need to matriculate that ball down for a score to tie it up. Then let’s see what happens. I knew we were done after that first series, had seen that Lifetime movie before.

We’ve had offenses good enough to win a championship but we haven’t had the defenses at least not in the big games.

Lol, and can't stop the run as well.

Fewest in the league last year!

Warren Sharp's totals are correct but they are for drives ending in punts, turnovers and on downs. Actually, Dallas had a smaller number of drives that ended in punts and turnovers at 59. Below are the league totals for drives ending in punts, turnovers and downs:

It was game over because the first 7 drives on defense were TD-Punt-TD-TD-TD-TD-TD which no team in playoff history has won from that position.
Nice stat.
Putting the game in drives, offense and defense, shows just how awful we were.

But, garbage time points again. We sure can score once a game is out of reach.
