My mom’s house had a few trees hit it. They have no power and it’s hot, cell phones almost dead with nowhere to charge. For a cat 1, the wind sure hit like a cat 4.

I live in San Antonio, we were on the western edge of the area and only got a little rain. A good chunk of the area, however, did lose internet for most the day today due to some Beryl related complications. Got off pretty lucky compared to people in it's path.

More than 2.9 million electric customers in Texas were without power at one point Monday afternoon after Beryl made landfall. Power was slowly being restored across the state in the wake of the storm, but outages Tuesday afternoon remained above 2 million, according to PowerOutage.us.

Intense heat and humidity paired with the outages created dangerous conditions that will persist throughout the week.

Outages may last for days, which will not only be dangerous for those without access to air conditioners, but also families who are struggling with food security, as food being stored in refrigerators and freezers may spoil.

Power came back up for me late yesterday afternoon... I was bouncing back/forth between my house and friend's (who had power). I didn't want to leave my house entirely, because criminals don't take days off anywhere.

I had an unexpected chimney leak, so that's where my main damage came from outside of power.

Purchased a generator, but power came back on the day I got it. I'll be much more prepared for the next weather event.
