It's a great time of year

Preseason is for the fans.
That’s a telling comment. There’s a bunch of young 20 year olds out there on the 11th trying to make the team. Many of them have been playing football since they were 6 or so dreaming of one day making it in the NFL. So no 6, preseason is for the players and we fans get to sit back and enjoy their journey’s good or bad.

First preseason game coming up in a little over a week, daily updates out of Oxnard on how players and coaches are doing and Cee Dee’s and Daks’ contracts could break at any time. Bring on the Rams. Let’s see what these young guys can do! :starspin:
Your good cheer is endearing.
But, if I may dissent a pfennig's worth?

Me preference is September,

when the leaves begin to fall. The pads have long been worn and there is a nice hike while I allow the brisket to smoke. Then Sept. 5 comes around when the pig iron hits the fan.
Oh, yes, kind sir, for me it is September when our fun begins after a brutal Texas climate change heatwave.

I hope the fruit basket met with your approval, scruffy lad.

Preseason is not a time for good football. But if you know what you're looking for, you can find rookies getting a chance to fill a notch that teams need filled. Even after the draft and several weeks of free agency there are deficiencies that need filled. Now it's time for the Cowboys to evaluate available veterans out there with a skill set that we are otherwise lacking and sign them. By this time, the price is right.

Coaches evaluate players everyday at practice.

Signings:

We are definitely having fun with this but this *is* a positive. The Cowboys lost a player and immediately (basically) added depth they liked. They did what they say they like to do. They stored for a rainy day, the rain came and boom. Good (seriously) for them.

Not interested in the medals in Paris, huh...

I agree Rocky it is a nice time you're watching the young guys give it their all and try and make the team
