CBS Sports released its predictions for the top 53 players for the upcoming 2024 season and 5 Cowboys were mentioned in their list. It is essentially an All Pro first and second team prediction. Here are the Cowboys players selected:

OFFENSE
  • WR Cedee Lamb (most votes for WR)
  • G Tyler Smith (2nd most votes for Gs)
  • G Zack Martin (4th most votes for Gs)
DEFENSE
  • EDGE Micah Parsons (2nd only to Miles Garrett)
SPECIAL TEAMS
  • K Brandon Aubrey (2nd only to Justin Tucker)
I believe if Daron Bland had not been hurt, he would have also made this list. Trevon Diggs got a couple of votes but not enough to make the top 53 selections. No other Cowboys got votes at any position.

Bland is the real deal and one of my favorite players. He’s a ball hawk, heavy hitter, and doesn't take plays off.

Still blows my mind that we had two future HOF OL together in Tyron Smith and Zack Martin for a decade and somehow could not even win a divisional playoff game.
Not me. Just shows how much football is a team game. Or as Emmitt Smith might put it, you can't have diamonds surrounded by trash and expect to succeed.

You can say that about a lot of great players that came through here. Better than average QB play for almost 20 years. Zero to show for it.

It's not a bad list except leaving Burrow off for anyone but Mahomes is crazy talk.
Tough though when one guy in front of him is Mahoneys, other is Josh Allen and the other is a 2 time MVP winner.

Well I’ll say this….i don’t think Allen’s team will be good enough to even have him be top 3.

You mean our one vote MVP did not cut it? Seems about right.

I bet if they did one Jerry would probably be ranked 10-15. He just doesn’t know what he’s doing but he’s had some solid drafts.
You’re right. And Jerry has made the good decision to delegate the scouting and draft prep to a very capable talent evaluator in Will McClay. The drafts with only a few exceptions have been better than most NFL teams.

When most national writers (who don’t know much about the Cowboys) rank GMs, Jerry usually falls between 10-16. And he’s not the worst. But he’s long past due to step down. I can’t imagine a sane NFL owner keeping a GM who has not even won a divisional playoff game in 28 years.

No issue with this list, and I really like our 2 lineman getting some love.... 2 future HOFer's.
