Agree, but coach Jerry said he wants to see what Zeke Elliott can do as RB1. Yes, he said that.

The best thing they can do here is call up Cook, spell him with Dowdle, dump Vaughn, and Zeke to be used the way many of you who endorsed the signing tried to claim. I think he can actually offer something if he is used sparingly and correctly.

Problem is, Zeke is Jerry’s buddy and a name figure in Dallas and they aren’t going to do that to him. In fact I see more touches coming his way over the next several games.

Yeah Davis was terrible in preseason.. That was his opportunity to stake a claim and he spit the bit. Freeman was better IMHO.. I would be in favor of bringing him back before Davis.

Don’t know why some fans are so excited about Rico. He’s an average back just like the rest of them we have. It’s better to rotate backs and keep them fresh. Giving one back the brunt of the carries is just going to wear them down. Plus, Rico has had some injury issues.

The major problem with the run game is the O-Line is getting outplayed and when that happens there aren't many lanes to run into.

I've stated repeatedly that if they wanna role with Rico as the main guy I'm fine with it. Let's see what the young man can do. I just don't wanna see him (or Deuce) inside the 20 or in short yardage situations. Wasting a guy we KNOW is really good at that is just not smart coaching.

Not sure you can prioritize one problem over the others.
- OL not great at run blocking
- Stale and unimaginative scheme
- subpar talent at RB

If either of the 3 components above were viewed as above average, you can probably mask the others and make the overall thing work to some extent. As it stands now, it's completely broken. I read a stat somewhere the Cowboys averaged 2.5 ypc on 1st & 10 against a light box. That's terrible.
