Can't really do much when you can't run the ball. Was Aikman any less of a QB because Emmitt was so good? Was Roger any less because of Dorsett? No, of course not! Just the same, Dak needs a running game. Derrick Henry would've been a massive hole filled here .

The Lions roster is a perfect example of how the Jones' approach to free agency is just dead wrong and at this point, holding the team back before the first snap of the season.

The Lions have drafted very well but they have several free agent starters sprinkled in, and not even big contract "splash" free agents, just smart signings:

WR Tim Patrick

DT DJ Reader
LB Alex Anzalone
NB Amik Robertson

Trades - Jared Goff and Carlton Davis.

Meanwhile, the Jones can't stop blabbering that guys you can acquire in free agency or trades aren't better than your own youth/depth players.
