The Lions roster is a perfect example of how the Jones' approach to free agency is just dead wrong and at this point, holding the team back before the first snap of the season.

The Lions have drafted very well but they have several free agent starters sprinkled in, and not even big contract "splash" free agents, just smart signings:

RB David Montgomery
RG Kevin Zeitler
WR Tim Patrick

DT DJ Reader
LB Alex Anzalone
NB Amik Robertson

Trades - Jared Goff and Carlton Davis.

Meanwhile, the Jones can't stop blabbering that guys you can acquire in free agency or trades aren't better than your own youth/depth players.

Yeah, they are what Dallas would look like if we had a real front office.

Personally I think Dallas had a better base of talent than Detroit initially did before they made all those additional signings to bolster their team and would be even better than then with comparable FA acquisitions.

So frustrating.

Detroit let them off the hook. Goff was shredding them down the middle and they stopped throwing it.

The shorter the field the harder it is to throw as you can see by what happens to us in the red zone lol.
