From what I’ve read, Saleh’s intentions are to take the rest of this season off and to seek a defensive coordinator position in the offseason.

It docent matter who the DC is or will be, there is a serious lack of talent on the defense....2nd and 3rd stringers playing agianst first team NFL players. It's not a scheme problem, it's a talent problem....The GM has set the coaches up for failure

Bringing in a new DC with an entirely different system to implement over a bye week is even more a recipe for disaster. The time to make radical changes is going to be January, any change before then will be internal promotions.

you can't bring in a new DC in the middle of the season and install a new defense...it doesn't work that way.

I would consider him for DC next year. Not HC though. I don't know that he is HC material. But like all coaches, including Bill Belichick, you have to have the players and the Cowboys do not have the players.

But I think he will toughen up the defense.
