Here are yesterday’s snap counts. Some things that jumped out to me:
  • 2023 first round pick Mazi Smith had 28 snaps and did not make the stat sheet. No tackles, no sacks or pressures. Pitiful.
  • 2023 second round pick - TE Luke Schoonmaker had 1 snap.
  • In other words, our top two draft picks in 2023 are really non-factors in helping this team.
  • Eric Kendricks played all 57 defensive snaps and made 9 tackles, which is good. But most of them were made 5-8 yards upfield.
  • Demarvion Overshown had 56 snaps, 7 tackles and 3 of those were TFLs. Overshown is about the only bright spot we have from the 2023 draft.
  • Rico Dowdle had 55 of the offense’s 77 snaps and had 75 yards rushing and made a spectacular TD reception in the end zone. Can we cut Zeke finally?
What else?

Dowdle made a nice recovery. She should have caught the ball cleanly when it hit him in the hands though.

I agree, Overshown is turning out to be a defensive playmaker. His speed is something to see. He still makes some rookie mistakes but he could turn out to be pretty good.

Dowdle and Overshown look like the only two guys that want to play out there.

Schoon had a bad penalty as well on ST’s. Horrible draft pick.

Dak had far too many snaps, that bum should just trot out to hold field goals, If that's even something he can even do right

Sad that 2 UDFA's got more snaps than Schoon.
Gadget man Luepke and Spann Ford.
Luepke can at least be a RB here and there. Spann Ford is 2024 UDFA.

Just a sad early showing from the 2023 draft.

Respectfully Zimmer needs to go for not getting Bell and Juanyeh more minutes. What's his deal? I see he' finally decided to give Overshown consistent snaps.....
LOL ....the issue with Quinn we had lots of turnovers but couldn't stop the run. Now we are dead last in run defense and close to the bottom in turnover ratio. Go figure ....

Yeah be careful what you wish for I guess lol.....not stopping the run sucked but at least it was the only problem. Now everything is the problem lol.

This team isn’t as good as last years. Too many guys hurt, too much talent gone. But I didn’t worry about the run with Quinn as much as some. The easy fix wouldn’t be changing scheme but adding better DT

We can't get rid of Zeke until Jerry doesn't like him anymore.

I think they need to explore a scheme change. They don’t have the personnel to run what they want.

Gholston is the one that is shocking. You just can’t be effective on the dline playing that many snaps but thanks to great planning by our GM he had no choice
He has played well this year despite being overused.

They don't have many options with so many injuries at the position.

He has done a solid job. It’s not his fault our front office didn’t address DT enough during off season. I get DE, you’ve lost Dlaw, Williams and Micah. That’s a lot of talent and snaps to replace. But we was short at DT before camp and did little to get any real help there
