I watched the Colorado vs Baylor game last night, and wow. What a dude.

I doubt the pros will let him play both ways - frankly, I think Deion's the only coach crazy enough to let him do it. But in the hoopla about him being a legitimate two-way star, I think we lose sight of what a special CB prospect this guy is. Patrick Peterson-esque.

Seriously, where do you even poke holes in Hunter's game. 6'1" 185, rocket fast, top-flight ball skills, great tackler in space, and he's just a dawg physically. He's the kind of CB you could match up on anybody.

I didn't see the same type of polish to him as WR. He doesn't really separate with great route running or nuance, most of his plays just come by being more explosive than the guy covering him. With his pure athleticism and ball skills, I think he could start in the NFL yesterday as a field-stretcher #2, but I'm not sure if he is a high volume #1. And playing offense negates the hands-on physical part of his game, which literally won the game for Colorado last night when he put his hat in there.

Anyway, good WR prospect, unbelievable CB prospect, deserves the Heisman, and there's no way he doesn't go top 5. The Cowboys will have to have a lot more Saints game in them to draft this stud.

Said it in multiple threads, he has star written all over him. It is not like the Cowboys couldn't use him either. Problem is they need D Linemen more. If the team drafts top 10 it wouldn't shock me to see them pass over Deone Walker for him. They do love shiny objects.

Jethro certainly does; and likes to make a splash
I can see him ignoring a top DT to get him

Trade Bland at deadline for a 1
We should not pay him anyway since we paid Diggs
Draft him with that pick

Interesting, Hunter would probably be a WR for Dallas, but you'd have to play him on both sides.

I think he will be a better WR.
He makes more plays at WR than he does at CB.

But it is all for moot as he will likely be one of if not the top player taken and we will win enough games for him to be out of reach.

If it’s about money he has to like what Lamb got as opposed to Diggs. Think it would be cool seeing a guy play both sides….

I do think he's the Heisman, but I don't think he goes top 5.

There is no CB worth that type of draft capital and, like you said, he's not a polished enough WR. And while he'll always be a terrific athlete, the gap is going to be greatly diminished in the NFL.

I actually think he'll be best as slot/safety hybrid type player who can have some freedom to just be an athlete - in the Minkah Fitzpatrick mold. Not sure a team would do that, but it'd be the best way to maximize his athleticism.

Agree…what’s crazy is Will Johnson is in the convo for CB1.

In a weak draft they might be the only blue chip players in the entire class IMO.

It looks like Dak will be done for the year. The Cowboys could possibly lose out. So with the quarterback hungry teams like the Raiders, Giants, and Carolina could open the door for this kid to fall to us. You draft Hunter without hesitation and play him on both sides of the ball.

You can’t play someone both ways in the NFL. Maybe full time at CB with an occasional play on offense but consistently playing both ways will wear down/injure him. He deals with that in college and would get worse in the pros.

evenly? or special packages on offense?

I don’t think it’s possible to play at a high level on both sides of the football. And I don’t think he’s an elite receiver as he is a corner. It would be fun to see the next Deion. Not sure if that’s what this teams needs.

yeah. that's where i'm at. it's a nice novelty, but not practical. cb seems to be where he can be a difference maker.

Hunter is exactly the type of player Jerry drools over.
