Big Mac worked with players he was handed.

Sometimes you have a different perspective after playing for other coaches. I'm sure Rodgers values a part of the relationship regardless what he previously said. What sticks out to me though is what he didn't say. He could have refuted the claim by stating McCarthy is a hard working coach, etc. But all he said was McCarthy was his boy and good with handling adversity.

Firing the head coach won't fix the problem. The next head coach needs complete authority. Think Jerry will allow that? I see more years of bad with fans wishing for a new coach.

McCarthy is not perfect. I understand some of his flaws, but like the Dak argument, I do not think a coaching change is going to fix the Cowboys problems. Again, I point to the roster which I believe MM had little to do with. This team is the result of Jerry Jones. He made the roster decisions. He signed the bad contracts. He let all those players leave, and he chose not to sign adequate replacements. You could clone Vince Lombardi from a hair follicle and give him the job and it might mean one more win but at the end of the day Lombardi would quit on Jerry Jones for not giving him anything to work with and not putting winning first.

The 2024 Dallas Cowboys roster is solely on Jerry Jones. No one else. Whatever embarrassment is to come should only turn Jerry's face beet red. MM is doing the best he can. He was set up to fail. This isn't a movie, like the Bad News Bears. McCarthy is not a magician. The Cowboys bottom of the league statistics are the result of not having good players. People need to stop talking as if changing 1 guy in the organization is going to fix it, unless that one guy is Jerry, and even then it will take a couple of years to turn it around.
