No idea where this thing is eventually going. The ringleader aimed for the rim and plopped into the toilet. Though the team has occasionally landed solidly on the rim only to be flushed in the playoffs-which is a pretty large accomplishment considering how he runs this ship.

I wanted to tear the ship up and start over long ago, but we followed the road to relevance too often. That road is now perilous with the increasing age/injuries to Dak along with his declining mobility and arm velocity. No matter the additions/subtractions around him, he will be forced into becoming a drop back traditional passer in these next few years. That has never been his game. The ringleader will compel any coach to start and play Dak no matter the future results-which might get ugly in the near future. He never had great pocket management and escapability-and opposing defenses will bet that he will go down easily with pressure.

The rebuild I wanted is coming, but I did not realize the way to guarantee it was to extend Dak to an outrageous deal. Way to go Jerry? Not sure it ever turns into something better, but they do not usually end up down the toilet in the regular season so at least it will be different in that way.

The Dak contract is a sunk cost. No use crying over spilt milk. There are now two options on how to proceed:

1. Cut Dak ASAP and go full rebuild. Purge the cap of all bad money contracts and pay the dead money bill and circle 2027 as a “start fresh year”

2. Build around Dak and try and contend the next 3 years. Cut old aging players, use extensions to expand the cap, and bring in mid tier FAs and high draft picks to make a run. Bring in a new HC and offensive system to give Dak every conceivable advantage and weapon to win.

I am 99% sure this FO will go with #2. They will move on from McCarthy and bring in new blood and try and rally around Dak and rebound in 2025.

yeah Hawk....i hate to say it but Dak is the guy for the next 3 years and everything has to be perfect around him for us to be successful. I would venture to say there will be a lot of turnover this year, a ton of draft picks and the team next year will look very young with a small core of vets....if anything, the next year we will probably be very competitive will be 2026 unfortunately. There is reason to believe next year COULD look better than this year simply bc they build through the draft and they will have higher picks which will theoretically next better talent.....but they could still and likely will screw it up

Option 3
Dak retires with injury settlement and everybody's happy.
Least chance of happening— but it would be the most beneficial for the franchise for sure

You know Dak doesn’t want his career to end with a surgery. He will be back “in the best shape of his life” promising to “learn from the mistakes of 2024”

Jerry is too old for a complete rebuild. Stephen and Charlotte will need to create a hostile turnover. BTW...I met a custom furniture maker in Austin this past weekend. He told me he had made furniture for and met all three of those. He siad they were all very nice people....but, Jerry sucks as a GM!

For sure-but I’m certain it will result in a full rebuild with either scenario. I don’t think they win more than 6 games with Dak as the starter in any future seasons because the opposing defenses will take advantage of a QB that can barely move. He looks less mobile than the current Kirk Cousins.

Romo retired because of a broken body. I see a torn Achilles Daks next injury. Don't forget, he will be 32 next July. He is middle aged for a QB. This is now his second seasoning ending surgery.

Jerald will…

Resign Mike 1, probably McCarthy.

Will issue Mike 1 a new staff.

With over $100M in cap space, will not sign impact FAs, but will sign second tier FAs.

Will give Mike 1 a RB or WR in round 1 despite a solid QB and solid DL prospects being on the board.

After the draft, Jerald will pronounce they are Super Bowl bound!

...this is probably most likely to happen. Dak is inked in. Bring HC and DC with their coaches. Roll the dice.
