JJ will fire MM and we will hopefully be picking in the top 5 or at least top 10 in April.

Loads of money invested in Dak and Lamb, so they won’t be going anywhere and will have to be the focal point pf the rebuild to have any success— so what innovative offensive mind can get the best ROI?

I have a bad feeling JJ will seriously consider Kellen Moore as a legit HC candidate. Ugh.

I would prefer someone from the Shanahan coaching tree that will bring a solid running scheme to Dallas as Dak will never be successful without one.

Defense? I am good with giving Al Harris the reins actually. The players know and love him. He is a hot candidate and will likely leave Dallas in 2025 unless given the DC job. I say let him cook and see what he can do with Parsons, Diggs, and Bland and get him some young talent via the draft.

As far as the draft, best case we pick high and can trade back with a QB desperate team and gain a nice bevy of draft picks in return. I know many will advocate taking a QB there ourselves, but IMO, this is not a great QB draft, and JJ will screw it up, so take a guy in the mid rounds to develop behind Dak for a year or two.

We clearly need to rebuild the trenches. What college prospects excite you guys the most? We also have a glaring hole at RB and need WRs that can actually run a damn route.

I won’t even mention FA as we won’t be spending much and will instead likely be trimming old contracts and aging players from the roster which is the right thing to do

I realize there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Just dreaming on a Wed morning in Nov amidst a hellacious lost season lol

Can't be sure that Jerry will fire Mike yet, Shanahan tree guy, doesn't mean he'll have the same effect on this team that teams have on us! Trying to be devils advocate right here.

Build the trenches and everything else will shape out fine

Good stuff Hawk. I have no doubt you see this team and it’s needs more clearly than the two guys running this thing now.

This next off-season will be a crossroads for this franchise. Are they genuinely serious about building An outstanding roster that can compete for a championship and win multiple playoff games ? Or are they just focused on making this team “interesting” enough to get ratings? This next off-season is a chance to get back to competing.

The hard thing won’t be the draft. It will be structural decisions. If JJ makes no changes in how he operates, we will have more years of the same things we’ve been getting. If does decide to even back off 25%, we may have some light. But no changes at the top mean no changes in outcome.

You can't be fired if you don't have a contract. Jerry can walk away, just doesn't have to re-sign him. The deeper we get into this I think the possibility of Bill B being the next coaching hire grows. I would personally hate that move, much rather a fresh face that hasn't been an NFL head coach yet, not named Kellen. Kellen Moore will not command this locker room and doesn't have the mentality to instill discipline so I feel we would just be wasting our time.

Good post. Not at all trying to crap on it….

Speaking from my own experience, the gist of which people have been saying for years around here but I typically saw it as lazy, trite, and inaccurate ….(I had the blind squirrel faith up until the GB incident)

That being the idea that nothing is going to change until the person who runs the team ceases to demand to be a celebrity and the face of the franchise. Simple and still overstated, but very true.

It undermines the entire coaching staff from go, and affects on the field decisions in a very detrimental way.

It’s impossible to have success on the field when the players know it’s not at all about that first and foremost.

Again, not directed at you or your thread…I just get riled up over this at times. Working on that lol….

Jerry can't fire McCarthy.

McCarthy's contract ends and he will just walk away like Garrett did.
I'm just going by what the OP said, he said he will fire him. You're all on me, but never anyone else. Time to get a life I think! :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Looking for income tax advantage and an increase of Jerry profits? Maybe he can invest in raising squirrels and veterinarians now as well. Perhaps he can talk with the original management when he purchased the team first, once again and refresh making winners.

Jerry Jones would need 17 promotions to become a complete jack-wagon.

Things will be changing or he will be receiving tons more fan disrespect, Interested in watching this team.

It's just semantics. If MM is not the coach of the Cowboys next year, he was fired. Same with Garrett, he was basically fired when his contract was not extended.

Kellen Moore got himself out of Dallas and onto San Diego pretty quickly. It seemed like he had that San Diego job lined up before he left. I'm not sure Kellen Moore wants to come back.

I wouldn’t go to Dallas if I were him but it would be a massive pay raise. I’m sure he makes a comfortable living but one HC job sets you up for life.

Some like Moore, some don’t, but regardless…him here as HC would be among worst case. He is essentially Garrett 2.0 and tells us that we are getting more of Jerry, not less.

In fact I just talked myself into him being the front runner. Jerry probably wanted to hire him two years ago but didn’t want to pay Mike to sit home. Quite plausible.

technically speaking MM can't get fired. his contract runs out and he is a FA coach. same as Garrett. he didn't get fired. he just didn't get rehired...

they have cap space and can easily restructure to get about 65M. I am sure he will do a few restructures and sign a big name FA. not top 5ish, but top 10ish and most probably DT. just to show the fans he is turning things around. but there is cap room he can create and use if he really wants it, but he won't. He will start working on Parsons contract given he is #1 dallas Jersey sales and #9 in NFL. cha ching.

he may come to play. Jerry will absolutely not hire a top end coach and pay 15M....he may go in the 7-8M range, which probably also puts Billicheck out of the range for him, unless this season and offseason gets really bad, then he will make a move for Billicheck.

lf he hires a OC or DC prior to hiring a coach, then he is more stupid than he lets on. can't do that a 4th time given it has never worked out.

he will defintley draft a RB in first two rounds, I just hope its not in top 10. in fact if he has a top 10 pick then he should trade down and pick up additional picks in lower rounds and even for 26...but is Jerry that smart? or will he be thinking how many Jerseys can I sell (which is more of a reality).

and we will be better (if this season keeps going as expected). it can't get any worse (then again)....so he wil create hope, spin and sell to the casual and fringe fans as he always does.

2025 a major social media build-up on Dak coming back and the Cowboys headed to at least the NFCCG............
Jerry will stand at the training camp press conference and kick off the season with the following.....

But KM would make JJ feel comfortable and that's all that matters....

I think by the time the season ends, this franchise/team/Jerry will be so embarrassed. All blame will go to one person ........Jerry.
