Guyton, Every Snap vs Houston

He still has a long ways to go, but Guyton has put together three pretty solid games back to back. Needs to clean up the penalties. Needs to get more consistent as a pass blocker, especially in stopping those outside speed rushes. In the run game his gap/power blocking has been really good, still needs to get better in zone which is the bulk of running attempts in the modern game.

Thanks for posting.
Looks like he has excellent feet and bend.
Effort is also there.
Gets knocked back on bull rushes.
He will be good.

Not a great football expert here but what I noticed besides focusing on Guyton.
1) Running plays are so predictable
2) Rush is a below average QB in most areas
3) Martin is a shell of his former self
4) no dynamic players besides Lamb
5) receivers struggling to get open (talent and coaching?)
6) need a RT

He continues to get better in my opinion. It is easy to laugh at the sack, fumble he had but outside of that he had a solid game.

He got pushed back towards the QB a few times, but for the most part he did his job.

Thanks for posting this. Clearly, Guyton is getting better. The experience he is getting is invaluable. A full off season in the weight room will really help. Next year he should play even better.

Guyton, Tyler and Beebe are 3 very good pieces. Now we need to finish building. Bass? Richards? Hoffman?

All we need is a good HC, OC and a better scheme.

The run blocking schemes are a real head scratcher for me. They expect way too much out of WRs asking them to make key blocks on DEs, etc.

Someone set me straight on this please….

Is it just me or does he not look the part of an NFL tackle? I’m talking body-type wise, not performance.

Maybe I’m just used to looking at Tyron, who looks like an action figure, but it seems as if Guyton is a little small on top.

Not saying it’s a problem, just asking if anyone else saw it the same and if strength might be an issue. I couldn’t know.

Only a matter of time before he gets moved to RT.
He is NOT LT material.....
yeah right I can hear Jerry and Stephen already having an answer before the new coach gets here about how they love and can't for see him moving to another spot on the OL

I agree that's why the other thread we were talking about there was somebody started that and put him on bust alert..JUST UGHH this guy's playing the hardest position to flex from college to the pros let alone a brand new position and hes on bust alert well maybe to causal.. At worst he'll be our future right tackle... anybody can see the guy can play. but you said he needs more growth but at worst he can be moved to right tackle bye bye steele .

the guy is RAW
UNDERLINED WITH PARENTHESIS
its going to take experience

he SHOULD NOT have been expected to start at LT this year

For a raw 1-year college starter, I'd say that Guyton's development is on schedule, if not ahead of it.

He was billed as a project player, but he's closer to being a stud LT than not.
At worst he'll end up being our future right tackle and there's nothing wrong with that and maybe the new coaching staff will be smart enough to maybe talk to Tyler Smith about moving to left tackle and you can use bass and Hoffman as guards
