I give Hoffman credit. After the 2023 preseason, he deserved to be cut and was. No one wanted him, so he ended up on our practice squad. What he did from there was make himself enough of a center contender that we were comfortable letting Biadasz walk (thinking Hoffman would at least be an adequate replacement). He seems to work hard and play with a chip on his shoulder. I think if he was a starter, defenses would attack him with power and beat him the same way they did Biadasz despite his tenacity. But he's at least a quality backup. Maybe he can successfully be more than that.

Have no problem with that. Hate that Richards suffered a high-ankle sprain against Washington. Means we might not see him again until the end of the season at best.Play all the young guys: Bass, Richards and Hoffman
let them show what they have
Waletzko time!Have no problem with that. Hate that Richards suffered a high-ankle sprain against Washington. Means we might not see him again until the end of the season at best.
I wanted to see Waletzko back on the left side in the preseason. I thought he had showed a little something there, but struggled when moved over to right tackle. Unfortunately, we haven't seen him enough at LT to think he can be part of the solution.Waletzko time!

what you were watching he was never gonna be the starting center here we saw BB get drafted we saw BB play pretty damn well in preseason and we saw enough that we knew he was gonna be the starter so anybody thinks he got bounced from anything he's still the backup center and the backup right guard and rightfully so because what we saw last year with bass and Hoffman is the same thing we're seeing this year both of them deserve to be on this team both of them could be starters could they be all pros or pro bowlers probably not but I'm not reading the rest of this story because I make up my own mind my eyes tell me what I am seeing in both bass and Hoffman are good for this line and we don't need to replace Martin with another Martin that would be nice but that's not always necessary to build a team they don't need to be elite players they just need to have the right attitude the right work ethic and just be able to be coached up you know proper technique just play the position properly it doesn't need to be an elite level just do your job..Why is this undrafted OL becoming such a beloved Cowboys figure in a lost season?

If style points counted towards the final score, reserve lineman Brock Hoffman might be the Cowboys MVP. Making a somewhat surprise start for the injured Zack Martin, Hoffman wowed fans with his effectiveness, no-nonsense attitude and innate ability to get under his opponents’ skin.
Up until Sunday’s showdown with the Commanders, Hoffman had become a somewhat forgotten name in Dallas. He had entered training camp and the preseason as a player to watch. He was a known standout in offseason programs and had endeared himself to coaches in teammates in the way Terence Steele once did. But a lackluster training camp and preseason quickly bounced the two-year veteran from expected starting center to an interior swing lineman.

Hopefully, this kid shines again on Thursday because I don't think Martin is ready to come back just yet.Why is this undrafted OL becoming such a beloved Cowboys figure in a lost season?

The days of Martin starting might be over. Maybe the last game of the year, out of respect.Hopefully, this kid shines again on Thursday because I don't think Martin is ready to come back just yet.
Ha! I feel like your post matched your avatar on that one. *RIP John WitherspoonI would have to say because of his effectiveness, no-nonsense attitude and innate ability to get under his opponents’ skin......just a guess on my part, though.
There has to be more depth on this line than we previously thought. Maybe an open competition and a quick hook next he’s twill result in a better culture.I love this guy. I love his style of play. The Cowboys need more of this, especially on the OL. He is an exclusive rights free agent after this year. The Cowboys can retain him by simply offering him a contract but I would also let him compete for a starting job.
Agree, he’s too beat up and a liability because of it. No point in playing him any further, need to see what we got in the other lineman to see if we need to draft high. The days of Martin starting might be over. Maybe the last game of the year, out of respect.
I was thinking the same thing, after this Washington game why rock the boat? Go with the same starters and see if the Cowboys can continue the winning magic. The days of Martin starting might be over. Maybe the last game of the year, out of respect.
