Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones on @1053thefan on Micah Parsons’ recent comments about not needing to be the NFL’s highest-paid defensive player and wanting to work with the Cowboys to keep as many free agents as possible:

“If you can get ahead of (these big contracts), you want to get ahead of them. Hats off to Micah. I’ve seen some of the comments that he’s made. (He’s) had conversations with Jerry (Jones) and I. That’s what we want. We want guys who want to be here.”

Sounds like greedy Dak is being thrown under the bus.

Keep it coming.............

The jones boy have never seen a bargain they don’t like!

So what’s he saying is Dak is a greedy guy
Some guys “want” to play for the Cowboys. Others have to be paid more than any other team will pay them. If Jones didn’t run the team so poorly and players thought they had a chance to be part of something great perhaps they’d be more willing to negotiate mutually beneficial deals.

As it is players, the NFLPA, agents and coaches know the Dallas Cowboys are a sink hole NFL franchise.

THEY WERE SO far ahead, that they complained about paying too much, but delayed and paid more!!

Juan Soto's contract will be the starting point for these negotiations.

parsons should only take less, if he gets to spend the $ saved in FA himself.
Cant trust the jones boys to do it or get the right player.

Stephen talks about Jerry (as he calls him) more like a business partner than a dad.
In Stephen's defense, I worked as an optician for my dad (optometrist) for 10 years. I called him by his name. It's unprofessional to address him as "dad". It was also a work relationship outside of our normal relationship. Screw Stephen, though.

Micah has discovered he has more say over the positions he plays then the defensive coordinator does, and Jerry will make sure that stays the same.
