Well done kid.......

I can't think of the last athlete who arguably is a starter at TWO NFL positions, another sports position (NBA) AND graduated from college with a Rhode Scholar credential

Off the field?

As jaw-dropping as Travis Hunter’s season has been on the football field, his academic exploits at CU Boulder have been equally impressive.

The junior from Suwanee, Georgia, is an anthropology major carrying a 3.798 cumulative GPA. In the fall of 2023, Hunter earned a 4.0 GPA and followed that up with a spring 2024 semester GPA of 3.908, earning him first-team All-Academic Team honors. Last year, Hunter became just the second player in CU history to be a first-team All-American and a first-team Academic All-American, joining Joe Romig.

On Saturday, Hunter became the second CU Buffalo to take home the prestigious Heisman Trophy awarded to the top player in college football and is the first Academic All-American to win the Heisman since Florida quarterback Tim Tebow accomplished the feat in 2007

BTW.....this is his younger brother

Here's his BIO coming out of High school

Notice the 4.2 40-yard dash

Don't be shocked when the Giants draft him. The Giants will get their QB in free agency.

He’s the only blue chip prospect in the class IMO…but I don’t think he’s a generational athlete by any means.

There’s probably like 5 dudes on every SEC roster that can run in the 4.3s and do crazy dunks…the difference is he’s really, really good at football.

How many graduates with 4.0 GPA?

I imagine more than a few from Stanford, Duke, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Vanderbilt....
Of course but how many can play TWO NFL positions, be good enough to play 2nd sport AND graduate with 4.0 GPA

I wouldn't say that Hunter is a once-a-decade type of athlete. I think you could have a pretty fun argument about who the NFL's best raw athlete was over the past decade, but if we start throwing out names like Myles Garrett, Saquon, or Tyfreak, I don't know if Hunter is on that level. Tbh, I would say that Hunter's not even the best pure athlete in his own draft class, that's Abdul Carter.

But that's not to diminish Hunter, because his overall bag of tools is really impressive. He's fairly tall, really skinny, probably runs 4.4, has great explosion, has elite-elite change of direction, has elite-elite ball skills, there's not a lot to knock him on. He was the #1 high school recruit for a reason.

He's definitely one of the best athletes in this class, and with his football IQ, physicality, and endless stamina, I'd say he's hands-down the best football player in this class.

He gives me Naber / Wilson vibes…where he’s a better athlete than whoever is covering him which creates easy separation.

That’s a mighty big label to put on a kid who has never played a down in the nfl. He had a great senior season but I have to pump the brakes on this one.

Probably one of the greatest athletes we've seen over the last couple of decades. But I think he'll have to have snap count management in the NFL, especially as he gets older. I don't think this both ways thing is going to be sustainable for long.
