On This Day In Cowboys History - THE HAIL MARY

Yep I also watched it live...well, on TV live. Wasnt there a whiskey bottle involved after that play?

back in those days of elementary school...regular season or playoffs, I used to think after a Dallas loss...now I gotta deal with classmates tomorrow laughing. This game being on Dec 28, I must have had a few more days of Xmas break so the excitement of the win probably subsided a little.

Along those lines of friends in school killing me after a Cowboys loss....ironically, a real real bad one was the same year. 1975. MNF in Dallas vs the Chiefs. Dallas lost largely because of about 7 or 8 turnovers. Chiefs werent very good. I wanted to punch Mike Livingston in the mouth that night.

I thought it live - I was 8 years old and remember
And fyi Staubach didn’t have a great arm
I will concede that this particular ball was underthrown but Roger still dropped a lot of dimes over the years....;)

My HS graduation present

And you wonder why I want to spend the dukets to get a all star quarterback again.

did you bother to watch; he wound up and put his whole body into that throw.
I don’t have to watch. It’s the flick of the wrist that sends it flying. The body gives it momentum. if you ever throw a football over 60 yards you would know.

You are so wrong its pathetic. A flick of the wrist was something Elway and few others could do. and its completely different from what you claim

What’s pathetic is, you probably never played the game so you just don’t have a clue. I don’t mind you being rude if you are right, but you’re wrong. It’s the flick of the wrist that gives the ball speed. It’s the body that gives it the height momentum. You probably couldn’t throw it past 30 yards if you tried so I don’t know how to help you.

You can’t possibly flick your wrist and throw your body into it at the same time . LMAO.
