Look no further then the red zone stats:

Cowboys Offense ranks 27th in the league, their lead back Dowdle has just 1 rushing TD for the season through 16 games.
Cowboys Defense ranks dead last in the league, having given up the most rushing TD's in the league

This is a direct correlation that our rushing offense/run defense has struggled.

Pretty simple, you kick FG's and give up TD's, you won't win many games!

Until they fix the trenches, they will not be a legitimate Super Bowl Contender, not matter who is at the skilled positions!

The #1 mantra last off season - fix the run and stop the run. Mission massively failed.

The #1 mantra this off season - fix the run and stop the run. I guess we're running that back also.

Many will point to the QB or the lack of coaching, but the trenches are the real reason why this team cannot compete against the elite teams. Until it gets fixed, expect similar results.

Forget that. Is six double digit losses the msrk of a good team?

Exactly. Need better players. Need better coaching. Everyone know the OL/running scheme sucks ***.

Yeah, but the ironic thing is this is kind of Mike McCarthy's offense he had a problem like this last year and yet they led the league in scoring so it's either they scored from outside the red zone or kicked a lot of field goals... This is one of the main reasons we need to get rid of Mike McCarthy as an offensive coordinator at minimum he needs to be gone his offense is just not creative it's not aggressive they don't try to throw the ball into the end zone very often they seem to be going against the green with the play calling trying to trick people but that's not being creative that's just being conservative safe and they're almost like settling for field goals like they want field goals it's like I watched the drive and I'm like dude they're just trying to get in field goal range I mean that's sad I want to see a coaching change just for this reason alone they just don't look to just put kill shots on teams early and often in games.....

Two years in a row I've seen Mike McCarthy's offense the first half of both years come out trying not to lose games and that's just something I can't live with anymore you thought it was because they were installing a new office last year and maybe because the way they finished the year the league in scoring that they would come out all guns blazing we get to see the bottom of the playbook to start this year instead same old same old they don't get creative until it's too late..

Was reading this thread before the game

Cowboys 1st drive looks good... get into the REdzone AND they have to settle for a FG.

This is what happens when the front office takes the year off and brings back a guy who was done 3 seasons ago to lead the backfield. This mess is 100% on Jerry and his kid. 3 12 win seasons and an opportunity to get over that hump, instead they chose to take a huge step backwards!

Don’t forget the strategy of overpaying their own players and bargain hunting every year in free agency.

Trenches talent needs to improve no doubt but coaching has been a problem for years. The Cowboys have depended on out dated schemes for decades on the offensive and defensive line. The problem is we are dependent on the draft to improve talent. It takes time to develop young trench players and with Dak, Parsons, and CeeDee in their primes, we don’t have the time.

The same people coming in making the same long winded arguments. Please make it stop we have heard your complaints enough already

Don’t forget to add in that we are near the top of the league in penalties (again), and are near the top of the league at giving the ball away.

JJ wants to frame this crap season as a “noble fight to the end”, but this roster and staff have deep, deep flaws.

4th most in penalties, tied for most false starts thanks to Guyton and false start Ferguson

can you now imagine what a Henry and a real DT would have done for this team?

Made a post of the draft zone about moving towards a more modern scheme like the Rams/49ers employ.
Yeah that is looooooong overdue. The 12-5 seasons distort the truth because they couldn't beat the really good teams.

Broken record "we need to score in the red zone!" We get near the red zone and we have penalties, INT's, and we settle for FG's
Red zone failures, tight end, penalties, running game.
