Stats that show why this team has failed this season!

So many teams seemed to pick Dallas to have their any given Sunday game
Maybe Dallas is so bad it becomes every teams given Sunday. QB. RB. Steele. Guyton. Entire DL needs replacement reinforcement. And a WR.

You may very well be on to something

Yeah that is looooooong overdue. The 12-5 seasons distort the truth because they couldn't beat the really good teams.
Perhaps playing in a real bad division pumped up those records, prior to this season was guaranteed 4 wins against the Giants/Commanders.

can you now imagine what a Henry and a real DT would have done for this team?
Yes, but there offensive scheme has to be updated to more of a modern one. It's odd that they ran the ball better when Martin went down, did our OL coach change the scheme for the younger players to grasp?

I have been researching what it takes to put together a strong run defense, it starts with bigger personnel. Problem is they built this defense under Marinelli/Quinn who target quick, undersized players off the snap to get to the QB. These defense tend to ware down and struggle defending the run. On the fence about resigning Osa cause of this. Good pass rusher, but struggles as a run defender and tends to ware down as the season progresses. Has had a terrific year, but not paying for a one trick pony.

and that was one of the keys. they paid martin for another year. where I would have just let him sit out and then play last 10 games and walk away. he was injured. and a liability. his injury helped soliffy the OL.
our DTs have sucked for years. its a huge issue.

The #1 mantra last off season - fix the run and stop the run. Mission massively failed.

The #1 mantra this off season - fix the run and stop the run. I guess we're running that back also.
The other mantra should have focused on penalties and that includes BONES special teams as well.

Good news is, great DT class this year, but they have to pull the trigger and get one, if not multiple.

Look no further then the red zone stats:

Cowboys Offense ranks 27th in the league, their lead back Dowdle has just 1 rushing TD for the season through 16 games.
Cowboys Defense ranks dead last in the league, having given up the most rushing TD's in the league

This is a direct correlation that our rushing offense/run defense has struggled.

Pretty simple, you kick FG's and give up TD's, you won't win many games!

Until they fix the trenches, they will not be a legitimate Super Bowl Contender, not matter who is at the skilled positions!
The only stat that matters and the end of the regular season is 7 wins and 10 losses.
