Be taking a look at possible fa targets since the new staff has been hired. Here are some names that won't break the bank, that can fill some holes prior to the draft:

-Will Hernandez Arizona/Will Fries Indy

Both have worked with Adams in the past and fill the RG opening if Martin does retire. Hernandez will be the far cheaper option.

-Bryron Cowart/Chris Williams DT Bears

Depth type of pieces that Eberflus might bring in for the transition

-EJ Speed LB Colts

A former pick by Eberflus that is coming off of a 142 tackle season

When identifying Cowboys free agent targets, the first criteria is price. Which of these guys will take less than $4 million? That's the list of targets. Everybody else is on the wish list - the list fans wish for but will never get.

I can see Cowart and Speed as options for sure. If you go by Spotrac the estimated price tag for Speed is 2 years at 10.7 million.
Cowart is 2 years at 5.6 million. Certainty does not break the bank.

PFF projects Hernandez's salary to take up 1.8% of the cap. Given the NFL's $272M cap this year, that's about a $5M annual deal.

I'd gladly do 2 years/$10M for him. Basically guarantee his salary for 2025 and make '26 an option year.

I think it will depend on how Adams feels about Hoffman or Bass starting. Of course, you have to make a free-agent decision before the draft so we will know.

How does Hernandez fit the zones schemes Adams likes to run? I seem to view Hernandez as not as adapt to get out in space and into the second level as well as say Hoffman.

None of these players will break the bank so to speak, there have a prior history with our coaches to help with the transition.

They both have a connection and fit the Stephen Jones cheap fa model.

I do get a sense that we might see Stephen spend a couple of more dollars this FA. I'm not saying spend big money for top tier FA's but maybe we will see a couple of more mid tier FA's brought in. I can see Staffon Diggs for around 13 million per year being a big signing for us.

Nobody is signing diggs for 13 a year. That's insane

+1.......IF healthy, he would be a good pickup IMO. Word is he could be ready by the beginning of the season, which could mean half of the season to truly make an impact.

Diggs or a reunion with Cooper are the fa plays for WR. Sign them to a short term contract and it gives time to find their replacement rather then reaching for a need in the draft.

Why? He has been a 1k receiver the last several years excluding last yr when he got hurt. Might not be a #1 receiver any longer, but still a very good #2 type.
I see him being an upgrade over Cooks. He can still separate and if we are going to truly run the ball first and use more play action, than I think Diggs will give us some needed balance and provide some spark.
