Am I a bad Fan?

This is the first year in over 6 decades that feel I can really question my fandom. Everything from the front office, the coaching staff and to the players seems second rate. Yes, I'm an angry fan. So many years of "stupid is as stupid does" can wear on a fan that remembers when the Dallas Cowboys were the organization that people followed and admired, other teams tried to emulate, America's Team. I don't have that many years left, maybe I'm too old, maybe I expect too much. I feel like is it all a waste of time.

The only enjoyment I get from watching 4-5 games per year is hoping for a blowout by the team we are playing. Jerry can’t cry enough in his skybox.

You're only wasting your time and being a bad fan, if you wish they lose, get embarrassed to embarrass Jerry. If you wish Dak plays poorly or gets hurt, if you constantly whine about the same thing over and over again, trying to take other fans with you, etc. Those are bad fans, in my opinion. Any fan that thinks like that, takes this GAME way to seriously. If it ruins your day, it's not worth it. I was in the hospital with my dad for 10 hours, just got home to chill for a couple of hours. This forum is just an escape from real life, I enjoy it, even arguing with the haters..... Go Cowboys! Enjoy it!

I'm a fan for life. I'm not always going to agreeable or be happy about the state of this team. I'll be vocal about my opinion on here. But come game time I will always root for the the win.

No you’re not a bad fan IMO. IMO bad fans are fans that watch other teams during the lean years and then jump on the bandwagon when we have a winning record. This is my personal belief, but every fan that posts on this board in the middle February after the Super Bowl, during a 29 year drought, regardless of opinions about players or FO, is a good fan. The fact that you, and everyone else, who posts here is still engaged with their fandom show passion and dedication. Being an angry fan means there’s still some emotion and passion.

I don't think you're out-of-bounds. I am an old fan myself, 54+ years. I refuse to give anymore of my money to Jerry. I wear my old Cowboys clothing and I also started recording the games. If the Cowboys win, then I'll watch. Until Jerry puts an ounce of effort into this team, I refuse to put any effort into this team.

Dude on New Year’s Eve my dad (87) fell down and hit his head and suffered 2 brain hematomas. Everything was going good and he was recovering and then last Monday he went to the ER and was in the hospital all week until Friday evening. He had surgery to fix 2 brain bleeds in his head. Fortunately they got it in time and he is home and making a recovery. He’ll be fine and we’re all relieved. It was a scary week tho and it’s amazing how little you care about the small things like football or Jerry Jones when things like this happens. I hope your dad is okay, hang in there, sending positive thoughts your way.

The fact that you're here now....should tell you something.

That’s what I’m talking about. I don’t think anyone can be a “bad fan “ as they’re posting on a fan website on a Tuesday night in the offseason. Discouraged or angry, sure, but definitely a fan that cares. We’ve all had times of low moments as a fan. It happens.

Dude on New Year’s Eve my dad (87) fell down and hit his head and suffered 2 brain hematomas. My feelings were set while in a Church. Fandom is mixed in with human dignity. There are too many real criminals not to at least put faith into at least show respect to those trying in sport. There will always be a winner or a loser in football. I never was spoiled by the need to win alone. Too many here would sell their souls to complain and insult on a false sense of their own amusements.

Myself, I never was afraid to lose...and now a fan still!

I’m just glad a lot of you are finally getting to where I am in my feelings for the cowboys. I’ve been feeling this way for 5 years now. I basically root for them to lose and laugh at the optimism some fans have.
