Has Dak alienated much of the Fanbase

You'd do the same thing.

Players care about money first, second, and third. Winning is a cute bonus to them
I don't even see how winning is a bonus for them honestly. Most NFL starters make less money in playoff games. They are risking injuries for less money and it shortens their off season.

That is like asking the average person to work overtime for less money and less vacation.

I dont get mad at dak, he's a player and he did some good things for the team....I get mad at Jerry for the contracts and not having the balls to move on.

Imagine if they had let dak walk and drafted someone last year...we would al be talking about this upcoming season in a different manner

Yep, all these guys who are sitting safely on their recliners want the guys who are putting their bodies at risk to gruesome injuries to take less money.

Such an asinine position. None of these guys would take a pay cut if they worked for the worst manager in their entire corporation who also happened to be in charge of payroll.
People in real life are forced to take pay cuts all the time. They can also get injured too for far less money. Thats why things like workers comp exist.

These players are privileged and spoiled more so now than before when the NFL wasn’t as big many years ago. Aikman signed a six year $11 million dollar contract as a rookie 35 years ago.

I don’t blame players for making as much as they can, but spare me the “brotherhood” and “feed my family” comments. Holding out for the difference between $55 million and $60 million and then acting like that is insulting is absurd when 99% of people won’t make that in a lifetime. Especially when having the status of a privileged position enables you to make that up elsewhere like it does for Wak who is clearly overpaid.

It's as if Jerry deliberately made Dak sign that short term, NTC, high AAV contract. There are A LOT (not as many of us who balked and argued 'why do it in 2024, let him play out the contract'.....as there was NO QB that was going to raise the AAV from $55m between then and now).
The very worst thing that Jerry did, WAS DOUBLE DOWN ON THE DISASTEROUS CONTRACT, BY RESTRUCTURING IT IN 2026 RATHER THAN NOT PICK UP HIS 2027 GUARANTEE IN 2026.

Is there a CAP Guru that can confirm....as Dak's 2027 Salary guarantee's on 3/18/26....are we able to cut him 3/17/26 and Post-June that cut (it would save us $40m CAP - not I want to help Jerry out, but a lot can happen in that time???)

You guys trying to deflect from Dak and blame Jerry.......

It doesn't have to be one or the other. It's very fair to say Jerry hasn't put a truly championship caliber team together and that Dak is not a difference maker, is not worthy of the contract he received and is not part of the solution.

In other words, they can both contribute to any alienation.
There is a lot wrong with the structure of the Cowboys organization. But the Cowboys biggest reason they have fallen flat on their face lately is Dak goes from a reasonably decent QB in regular season to an awful QB when the lights come on. Dak is mentally weak and has been so exposed he now is mentally damaged. Combine that with not much arm talent and he has crumbled. He got by on hard work but that only gets you so far without pedigree.

Tell us your football IQ, without tell us.

This would be the case in any other ordinary business. But playing in the NFL is a privilege that many athletes don't get to do. These rich owners offer players the chance to make millions playing a game they love. These rich owners are helping these players build generational wealth in a short period of time. Ordinary people cant come close to this kind of money working a lifetime. On avg the wear and tear are no different than the brick layer who's back and knees are shot at the age of 50 but he has to keep working because he has no money. At the least the football players are given the opportunity to retire early with a wealth of investments that generate a great income. They have a beautiful home and never have to worry about money.
Dak needs to be black balled from the league like that punk QB that played for the 49ers

Oh give me a break, this rebuttal is asinine.

Millions of people around the US, not even the world, work jobs where injuries are a real risk and even the chance of death of death is infinitely higher than a professional football player while making orders of magnitude less than these guys.

This is an entertainment job, that’s what sports is. Part of being a good entertainer and creating a fan base for yourself is playing the part. It’s the difference between the actor who does small indie films because of the passion while passing up roles that would generate significantly more. This isn’t some corporate job where they are trying to make enough to buy a home and feed their families, a lot of these players make MORE THAN CEOs.

Exactly. Many Patriots players shortened their careers by playing full seasons of playoff games with multiple deep runs.

Lol. For $60 million a year, you'd do almost anything.
Ya, not for me. I started a company and gave my key managers ownership. When I sold out we all shared in the purchase price. I made plenty of money and didn't need all of it.

And yes it is on par with what we are talking about here. I didn't have to take less, but cared about my teammates.

Dak could easily take 40 or 45 million per year and his grandkids would not have to work.

I never would have given Dak $60 million. That was an absurd amount for a guys who is not a top 5 QB. I would have held the line at $53 million, what Goff got, and at 6 years, not 4. And no way I would have included a no trade clause. I don't blame Dak for Jerry nnot having teh spine to say no. But I do blame Dak for asking for that kind of money without humility. Again, Josh Allen taking $55 million should be an embarrassment or Dak and Jerry. Then on top of that, Dak comes out and plays like a $25 million QB, and get hurt. Has he no shame at all?

I rarely blame players for taking whatever they can get. But that doesn't mean I can't think them greedy. Dak is greedy. I have defended him many times, but the Allen deal has turned me off to Dak. I can't wait until he is gone.

Indeed.

Jerry misread the tea leaves.

Let's be honest here. A lot of people in any field, would be willing to take a little less money, if they love the environment they work in.

However, if the environment sucks, you are only staying for the money.

why would Dak not love the environment? He can play bad and choke in the playoffs and the front office makes excuses for him. He was overpaid on the last contract and now on this one.

Half the fans hated him from the start.

One day Cowboys fans will realize that fan whining is not considered a bad outcome by the Cowboys.
