I've seen a couple up close and personal. Pretty cool.
Have always wanted to go, but then think about the crowds, the waiting, the not knowing if the launch will take place. You have been to STARBASE or other?
Always amazed me how on clear days at Disney World you could see the shuttle launch all the way at Cape Canaveral. You don’t realize how big those old shuttles were with all rockets attached until you get up close. Even more impressive being nearby at launch.
Been to the actual base, once. Seen 2 launches from a closby Wal Mart. I don't cross the bridge....that would take about 2 to 4 hours to get out. Lot's of people.... last time I saw it with about 6 older veterans and their spouses. They were in their 80s and looked like little kids. We had a blast! Pardon the pun
