TRADED Cowboys trade for CB Kaiir Elam from the Bills

He's just too stupid to effectively play cornerback. He's big, fast and has the physical gifts necessary but he lacks awareness at every key moment and constantly commits the stupidest penalties. I don't know what to say about Elam when other cornerbacks who had a way lower draft-prospect and have less athletic abilities play better than him.

Yep i am pretty sure this is the guy Romo singled out during one of their playoff games..

PFF graded him at 70.2 and 47th out of 223 CBs last year. Jourdan Lewis was 71.7 and ranked 43.
As long as there's no fall off he should at least fill the hole left by J-Lew..We still need another vet in that room. Diggs is cooked, Seat Belt looks like a bust

Lance Zierlein projected him as a 1st rounder.

Overview
Elam is the next up in a long line of talented Florida cornerbacks, but he failed to play his best football in his final collegiate season. He is patient and strong to mirror and impede releases but inconsistent staying connected to the early stages of the route. He plays with good awareness in zone and has the twitch and length to make plays on the throw when squatting in space. He was beat on deep patterns against Alabama, Arkansas and Georgia, which might have led to excessive grabbing and an overall lack of trust in his technique on the 2021 tape. He plays big at the catch point but smaller in run support. Elam has early CB3 and eventual CB2 value as a press and zone corner.

Come on. We lose a 5th and 7th and gain a 1st round pick two years ago and a 6th
A first round pick 2 years ago means nothing.

I dont care where he was ranked 2 years ago. That is why teams have PRO level scouts. To see where they are at now. So a 6th actually isnt bad because thats how he plays.

Look at it this way.

Where was Bland drafted? I bet ya his draft position in his draft year changes based on how he plays in the PROS.

My goodness we have such hateful fans.

They added 3 former 1st round picks.
Maybe they just need a change on venue.

This can turn out to be a good trade.
Name me a time this team has traded for a former first rounder that needed a change of scenery and did well in Dallas.

I can tell you.

Amari Cooper. That is the last time this risk paid off. What year was that?

I'm not against this. The CB group is terrible at the moment. But little pricey for a long shot.

Wish they would've just resigned Lewis.

You and the FO are way to hung up on draft status. Remember when the 49ers told us Lance couldnt play? Or Carolina with Mingo? Here is edition number three.
Yup. A bust is a bust regardless of round.
