Josh Allen's nugget on Dak's $60M contract

I'm talking about acquiring players to build around the QB and offense in general. They could've loaded up on defense during Dak's rookie year but they just sat back and did what they always do.
I hear you, hound dog. This franchise is a hot mess.

But, I will go on record and say the Cowboys will win the SB this coming season.

Please call me stupid!

It wouldn’t have mattered. Why is this so hard for people to see.

The difference is this is a huge raise for most QBs. When your team franchises you twice and then lets you play out the final big year of you contract instead of extending, the team has artificially set your salary at a ridiculous level. Cousins, who was never a top QB was handled the same way, and he will retire as one of the highest career earnings in the history of the NFL. The Cowboys proved in multiple years that they learned nothing from Cousins, while always saying the plan was to keep Dak.

Stop blaming the player and blame the owners. No QBin that situation is going to say, give me less than I earned last year. NEVER EVER NEVER allow a QB to actually play on the Franchise tag unless it’s because you want to bring a young guy along slowly and absolutely plan to trade or let the vet walk prior to the next season.

If you're playing for the Jones boys and you know you won't have a chance to win anything, why not hold out for the biggest payday that you can? Why cut Jerry a break so that he can stiff Rico Dowdle and pocket that change?
fair question, but a couple of counter points.

If you are up for contract, you don't have to keep playing for the Jones boys. Why not just go somewhere else?

If you are a true leader & almost indispensable, couldn't you use the leverage to get Jerry to pay fair wages & sign some guys to give you a chance before you sign? If he refuses, reinforces point #1.

Sure but if 2 more players that want that ring do the same it can make a big impact......Derrick Henry was only 8 million a year so Allen giving back 5 Million is around 2/3 of a years salary for a back that got almost 2000 yards last season.

All props to Allen
Bills can clear or create 8 million. That ain’t nothing.

Look up both players career earnings on spotrac. Would it surprise you to learn that Dak's career earnings to date are $75 million more than Allen?

Allen $174,576,199
Dak $248,576,645

I know it has been 2 extra years for Dak, but given Allen's contract breakdown these next two years, they are about the same despite 1st round vs 4th.
Those numbers don't include endorsements, right? So, the real world difference is even more.
