Josh Allen's nugget on Dak's $60M contract

Talent is what makes Allen turnover prone. He can make so many plays that other QB's can't that he sometimes makes a bad decision. Almost all super physically gifted QB's have similar issues.

Dak has no natural talent to be an NFL QB. No amount of coaching, superstar team around him, etc., will change that. Dak wasn't prone to turnovers early in his career because he wasn't willing to make NFL throws. When forced to do that, his turnovers go up

You cannot have the numbers dak has had without talent just a fact. This group of coaches coming in is the best he may have had yet. Kellen Moore was all but a rookie when he started running Dallas offense so the growing pains of dumb play calling definitely had some effect on Daks gameplay, yet he still was at the top of the league (top 5) at his position. Allen has always had good coaching so you can't say his talent would surpass bad coaching because you have never seen it, what you can say is he played bad with good coaching.

First, so all the other ho-hum QB's that are putting up huge numbers are true NFL talents?

Second, I said natural talent. Dak is manufactured, not natural. A lot of people have some talent, are smart enough or will work hard enough to learn to be a Dr. or lawyer or a professional athlete. But the ones who have a natural aptitude for it are the ones who set the bar higher. Manufactured doesn't do well when things go off script whereas those with natural instincts and skills flourish.

Interesting.........

Uh, imagine what $5 million could do to each and everyone of us!

To quote Mark Twain..

There are three kinds of lies...

lies, damned lies and statistics.
exactly...and everyone has a statistic to back up their claim.....everyone can find that narrow path to where they are proven right.

and then there is perception....which is stronger than reality and statistics put together.

Everyone in the NFL has talent, derdeedee.

If you are making 55 million a year, making 60 million a year makes absolutely no difference in your life. Can that difference mean the difference between a super bowl and an early playoff exit? It absolutely can. Maybe not in Dall where the FO is so bad they'll waste it, but on a team that is run w/ competency, it can make all the difference.

Sooo, how much difference does a 5 yr contract make as opposed to a 4 yr? Jalen's cap hit in 2025 was 21 mil and change. His cap hit in 2016 willl be 31 mil. Keeps the window open. It then climbs to 42, 47, and then 97 mil in 2029. And then the team can extend him further and push it further down the road, attempting to keep the super bowl window open. At some point they'll have to pay Jalen and Jordan if they want to stay in contention. Be interesting how they work around the WRs salaries at that time.

Josh is not wrong here but note he actually got 330M total and more in guarantees both actual and practical than Dak did.
Dak's 60M AVV looks nuts because it is but cry no tears for Josh.
He got a nice head start on Dak and will make more money than Dak for his career. --assuming Dak doesn't play til he is 45.

Interesting.........

In other words, I have accomplishments on the field....I don't need my contract to "establish" me as good/great...my play already does that.

THIS is what I was talking about when I said the team under McCarthy was DONE. D-O-N-E. You CAN'T go around spouting "universal truths" like "brotherhood" and "fraternity" and then go for self. You CAN'T with grown men...ESPECIALLY if you suck under pressure. Josh Allen's team will rally around him WITHOUT all the platitudes and bleep that Dak spouts...because of his ACTIONS WITH HIS WALLET...that you can't fake.
