Signed by Cowboys Dakota Shipley signed

Here I thought today would be all about adding a receiver. Of course, the tweet doesn't say what position they want him to play ... maybe?

I'll never fault the team for bringing in/back O-lineman for cheap.
True. That's why I liked the Robert Jones signing so much. When we had Jason Peters, we had a great line. That's when we focused a lot on position flex and that year the flex was needed. My point is, that was a pretty good year as far as depth goes. Peters was a decent player individually but it was great to have him because he gave you depth. We moved him all over the line. Having enough quality depth is important as you know.

Some don't seem to understand that not every position can be a big name, pro bowler. And that's why I say the Robert Jones signing is prudent and may turn out to be one of the wiser moves in hindsight as we get rolling into next year.

We still have money to do something big with the money.

Then again, one way to really screw your team is to sign big named free agents for big money only for their talent to fall off, maybe they lose motivation, and it costs you.

That's worse than their sort of budget roster building. I admit, though, I'm somewhat of a Jerry Jones fan, and like their draft-centric approach to roster building.

I consider the Jones signing the equivalent of the Edoga signing. I know none of us wanted Edoga to play left tackle, but he was a serviceable vet backup lineman.

I think this year we believe we've got a better backup LT in Richards (a player I wish would be given a chance to start), so Jones comes in as a swing G/RT. We might actually have right- and left-side backups this year: Richards LG/LT and Jones RG/RT.

We are taking this offseason serious
We’re signing jags and making trades for players that went bust. We haven’t signed anyone of significance. Looks like we’re adding more average players hoping someone will step up. Would be nice to sign a quality player.

Backup C secured, so it seems the OL is set with bodies Adams n Riley may want to upgrade somewhere but their set. Maybe another OT would be a solid move.

His name is Dakoda Shepley . He’s an OT . Obviously Ball Edoga Waltetzco were all washouts . More depth for the line like the Jones signing . Churn the roster and bypass OL this draft for much more pressing need .
