Has Dak alienated much of the Fanbase

Completely agree with the OP. I actually was ok with him being a second tier QB and paying him like one. But then take the saved money and surround him with offensive talent and a better running game and just let him be the ultimate bus driver. But his criminal agent got the best of Jerry (elder abuse).

I agree 100%. If his cap hit was that of a 2nd tier QB- I'd be okay with him.

Jerry is doing a much better job at that than Dak

I am sure multiple people were involved with Dak contract. GM Jethro made the Trance trade by himself. The Niners should lose draft picks for taking of old man Jones.

The Dak contract was horrendous when signed but as time goes on, it just gets worse.
The fact that Dak had to hold out for the Maximum amount feasible rubs me, and others I'm sure, just for the fact that he came across as more greedy than committed to winning.
Watching all the FA activity for all the other teams and how so many don't sign to the maximum but for amounts they seem respectable.
But not Dak. He didn't seem to give a squat about helping the team. He signed the most crippling contract he could for the teams sake.
Not only will his contract hinder us presently, with the restructures where they convert his salary to a bonus, he will be causing us cap problems well after he is gone for two to three years afterwards.
While his restructuring helps us short term, it will limit us for many years.

I agree
He told me everything I needed to know when he said he owed it to the other QBs in the league instead of his Team Mates
once he got paid his concentration was how to demolish his mansion to rebuild a new one

His best year was his rookie year when Romo was his personal QB coach ( told him what to do )
When Tony left Dak looked horrible until they traded for Cooper
He doesn’t make the players around him better , he needs good players to make him self better
Believe he might hold the season record for pick 6 in a season
Doesn’t go through his progressions

Some might say look at his statistics, which I counter to how much of those were against prevent defense ( bend not break )

So yes he alienated this fan

Jerry Jones owns the team. Dak works for him. Jerry Jones did not have to agree to anything. If Dak couldn’t get what he wanted from the Cowboys he would have to go offer his services to another team. Either way, Jerry Jones still owns the Cowboys. Dak Prescott was confident he would be successful whether or not Jerry agreed to his terms. Jerry Jones was not confident enough as owner/GM he could be as successful without Dak. Jerry acquiesced. Not Dak’s responsibility to instruct Jerry Jones on proper handling of player compensation.
Of course. And if Dak was interested in winning a super bowl, he would not have fought for a short term deal. The short term deal hamstrings the franchise and ascertains that we won't make a super bowl appearance.

Define successful. Moneywise, Dak is a huge success. Footballwise, he is not.

Dak has shown all the signs of a loser who's only interested in how much money he can suck out of Jerry.

well, perception is one thing. reality is another.

our emotional biases get in the way of judgement. that was the 2023 stats.

Disclaimer: This is by no means a defense of Dak and his play or lack there of. Its putting facts in place of perceptions. Dak needs to improve his play. The Cowboys need to improve their play.

I'm not emotional, not even a little. We disagree, it's OK.

Hence the reason he sat out when they lost. The injury was sure timely. He wasn't going to play 17 games and go 5-12 without some injury to blame.

Haha.....if you don't have success, how do you make that kind of money?

It all goes back to our GM is an idiot.

Success is not all about money. I know a pile of very rich people who drown in their own misery.

Our GM is an idiot, Dak screws the franchise. Both are true.
I am glad you think, you get to decide Dak's success.

So you must have been a fan of this contract.

Cleveland gave up six draft picks, including their first-round picks for 2022, 2023, and 2024, just to get Watson and a sixth-round pick in return. Then, they went ahead and signed Watson to a massive five-year contract worth $230 million, fully guaranteed.
Was that GM fired?
