Actually, that was true. It was true for Dak Prescott, Christian McCaffrey, Brock Purdy, Josh Allen, Tyreek Hill, Patrick Mahomes, Matthew Stafford, C. J. Stroud and Myles Garrett for 2023.It's entirely possible that those Jackson voters had Dak farther down on their lists.
The current AP voting system is five rounds of voting instead of a single round. All AP voters except for one voted for Lamar Jackson in the first round. That single AP voter cast their choice for Josh Allen. Afterwards, every single AP voter re-cast their ballots for the second, third, fourth and fifth rounds of voting.
Every non-Jackson player, including Prescott, was pushed down their MVP list. This is one of the main reasons why the voting system was revised. It was re-designed so more players could be recognized for their very good seasons while acknowledging which player or players they considered had much better seasons than others did.
