It's probably just gas because the Cowboys won't draft a QB on day 1 or day 2.I have a feeling the Cowboys will draft a quarterback in one of the first 3 rounds.
Ok, Jerry…. If Sheduer is there at 12 you have to consider it. If Melrose is at 44 you have to consider it. If Ewers is there at 76 you have to consider. It's probably just gas because the Cowboys won't draft a QB on day 1 or day 2.
You have to ask, "What impact did Barkley have in 2023?" He averaged 3.9 ypc on 247 carries, 962 yards total, what would you expect from Jeanty behind the Cowboys' trash OL? Build the trenches first..OL/DL first three rounds.More valuable positions. LOL.
Could any of these players provide the impact Zeke did in 2016? Only maybe Jeanty. It's not going to be any of these "more valuable" WRs, LBs or, dare I say, CBs.
How "valuable" was Barkley this year? How about Henry? Would you trade that for a cornerback? If you would you are a colossal moron.
You have to ask, what impact did Tyler Guyton have in 2024?You have to ask, "What impact did Barkley have in 2023?" He averaged 3.9 ypc on 247 carries, 962 yards total, what would you expect from Jeanty behind the Cowboys' trash OL? Build the trenches first..OL/DL first three rounds.
It's all about BPA value.. Take an Elite DE, OL, CB, WR, or DT (all $30M+ player) before an Elite RB ($15M)..You have to ask, what impact did Tyler Guyton have in 2024?
It's about BPA not force feeding picks anywhere on the field.
But Barkley is an infinitely more impactful player than any cornerback on the planet. To read some PFF stat geek talking about more important positions is laughable.
You're talking to a brickwall. The reigning super bowl champions drafted corners back to back rounds 1 and 2. In 2022 when they went to the super bowl they also had 2 high priced corners. Howie sure isn't into drafting running backs. Guess he's a pff geek as well. It's all about BPA value..
Of course, an elite CB is more valuable than an elite RB. Derek Stingly Jr. has an annual salary of $30 million. Barkley makes $20 million.. If Barkley was more valuable then why $10M less? Take Stingly 100% of the time over Barkley. BTW, Henry could have been had for $8M..
As of March 2025, the average annual salary for a cornerback (CB) in the NFL is around $20 million, with some of the highest-paid players earning over $20 million per year.
In the 2025 NFL season, the average salary for a running back is around $952,830
