What are the chances a 6th round QB becomes a starter?

Brady had a good arm; was good sized; not athletic but had good feet. So not sure what this physical shortcomings means.

Oh, come on. Everyone knows that Brady wasn't physically gifted. He had pretty good footwork, his arm wasn't weak but wasn't overpowering either. He had very good mechanics and generated his throwing velocity through his lower body and hip rotation. His best attribute was his intelligence and being able to read any defense. He already knew what was going to happen pre-snap.

The Cowboys acquire a guy the Patriots acquired for a sixth round pick and after one year they send him and a seventh round pick to get, essentially, a sixth round pick. And Cowboys fans are discussing him and bringing up Brady and Montana. How starved for hope can a fanbase be? Before Milton can be inducted into the Hall of Fame he’s going to have to become a starting quarterback.

It may be prudent to withhold judgement, and almost frightening delusions, until the guy actually plays a game or two.

Exactly and that's how Jerry plays this game he looks at how Washington's mobile athletic quarterback changed that team and turned around in a season and he looks at the measurables of a guy like Joe Milton and thinks he might be able to do the same thing if given an opportunity.

We don't use first round draft picks on quarterbacks here like much of the rest of the league does when building a team.

We try and find obscure people that make Jerry look like a genius if they pan out . We start them and then work around all their worts.
Dak wasn't anybody we even wanted until all the other quarterbacks were taken.
We took him cuz nobody else was left and Jerry set out to make it work and it did up to a point.

Other general managers would be worried about their job if they took a chance and made a bad decision.
There are no Consequences in Jerry's world so he will get his gambling fix and enjoy his hobby well hoping to catch lightning in a bottle and look like an NFL genius

He was also slow and looked like a scrawny giraffe. But even back then he could play under pressure.

That was a pretty good run game in the Seattle win as well but that's the point right Prescott's gonna give you a great chance to win a game if you give him some resemblance of a strong run game a decent offensive line have some more than one wide receiver as a threat or a tight end getting open and the defense not giving up seven touchdowns that would be nice and everyone's gonna go back to some of them close games like in San Francisco I'm sorry what you think you remember about those games but the first half of one of those games debo Samuels was running for 10 yards per carry doesn't matter that the game was close they were eating up clock and then you had an opportunity to have Trayvon diggs get an interception that just flat out drops it he also could have broken up a big pass to kittles, the defense just wasn't making the plays, I mean the other San Francisco game that allegedly was close and you blame the quarterback for mistakes do you remember there was 11 offensive line penalties and four defensive line penalties they played behind the chains all game and there was no run game I know that's where this started but that is the reason the offensive line is not opening holes for the run they're not blocking on the other side of the line of scrimmage and it makes it hard for the quarterback to run the team and yes mistakes will happen at some point they will force the ball every quarterback does this when there's nothing going on and he feels the need to create plays and he gives his players his teammates a chance to make a play on the ball and they typically don't....

we have stars that in the regular season are great but in the big games they WILT and then you blame it on the quarterback.

All quarterbacks are fallible, they literally make mistakes again Matthew Stafford let the league in interceptions first year with the Rams he didn't look any different than he did in Detroit except he was with a great team with a great defense especially guess what he threw 2 interceptions in the Super bowl nobody talks about it because they won that's because his defense shut the other team down from taking advantage of those interceptions he's not better than Prescott he just was had a better team....

Nobody is comparing Milton to Brady. You need to go back a few pages to see how to conversation was brought up. What's frightening is chiming in without knowing and thinking your two cents has more value.

It really all boils down to how bad Milton works for it. All of his “flaws” are fixable IF he’s a) getting good coaching and b) he’s receptive of said coaching. I know people rightly crap on him for being a bad OC, but Ken Dorsey was Josh Allen’s QB coach in his 2nd year when the “lights came on on”.

Rush had zero physical tools,one of the worst arms in the NFL and still managed to become a backup for 3 NFL teams.If all Milton does is be a good backup for Dak for 3 years then it will be a great trade and anything more is gravy.

Brady's arm was adequate and he was very very slow. 5.2 forty at the combine. Not athletic, very slow feet, only a decent arm. That's what they're saying.

Which goes to show that the #1 aspect of success as an NFL QB is his brain, and to further condense that it's his freaky ability to see what's happening all over the field and have a strange Miss Cleo ability to see what will happen before it happens. QBs have nanoseconds at the snap to figure out what's coming. Brady had this ability in spades.

Rush has a freaky good head for the game. Milton does not.

No, sorry, that's incorrect. His biggest flaw is not seeing the whole field and being very slow to read the D and make decisions. It is most likely not fixable.
