I'd throw up. He isn't the 12th best prospect in this draft. So how would you feel if he’s the pick?

Dane has him at no 9,you can bet the Cowboys will have ranked him similarly ,the only Question is whether we have any WR ahead of him.I'd throw up. He isn't the 12th best prospect in this draft.
Pretty sure Trance had potential as well.Stewart would upgrade the defensive line and has the potential to be the best player in the draft. Physically if you measure Stewart to Carter it’s not even close. I would seriously consider him with our first pick. For those that complain about his 4.5 career sacks, college football defenses are much different then the NFL.
IF HE HAD THE PRODUCTIONAgree it is a risk, but if he had the production he’d be a top 5 pick. His tape shows crazy motor & traits, should translate in the NFL especially next to Micah. I understand fans could be sour on selecting Stewart because of Mazi’s “underwear potential” but Stewart’s film is much better & his motor is elite which I highly value on the DL.
He is not a football player at this point. He is just a great athlete. At 12? Hard no.
At 28? Sure.
His lack of production cannot be explained away. If he only averaged 4-5 sacks a year in college that’d be one thing. But he only totaled 4.5 sacks for his career.
Folks have tried to trot out the “it’s the scheme” excuse, but let me break the news to everyone: There is not a defensive coordinator in the country that tells his d-linemen to just play gaps and not pressure the QB on passing downs/distance.
He is a good football player. He is just not a good finisher. He had 39 pressures last year. He needs alot of work, but saying "he is not a good football player at this point" is lazyHe is not a football player at this point. He is just a great athlete.
you do not spend a high draft choice on potentialThis guy has a TON of potential. While he didn't get sacks he pressured the QB at an elite rate. He just needs to learn how to wrap up and learn a few more moves.
He would bring a lot of speed to our defense, which is what we need.
Is he coachable?Just curious because I’m sure he’s a polarizing prospect. College production says late round flier, but measurables and athletic ability are top 5 worthy.
So how would you feel if he’s the pick?
Time is what we do have. We aren't close to competing. Especially with our schedule. We wont have enough difference makers on our roster this season. We need to make sure we do, 2 or 3 seasons from now. But for entertainment purposes. it sure would be nice to have an impact player just to make the game more interesting. Lat year was atrocious to watch. We don't have a talented enough team or roster to wait for the future. We need immediate impact players day 1.
And who are the Broncos trading up and giving away valuable draft assets for? They aren't exactly close to being the finished article. People need to accept we are highly unlikely to be trading out of 12.Broadus is convinced by his “ sources “ that Hampton is not an option with the 12th pick . Yet he gushes all over Jeanty saying he’s in Abdul Carter And Hunter out of Colorado top three to five first round pick .
I’ve seen the tape of a guy who’s run the ball at a major program and given the slightest of holes to run through is a threat to go on a major gain if not to the house . Hampton. Heck trade down some slots for another premium pick and take your feature back or perhaps a Jalon Walker a need on defense .
The Cowboys need multiple starters out of this draft trading down is not a bad strategy if the haul is worth it like another 2nd rounder or a 3rd and a 4th .perhaps you send them your 5th in exchange for first round slots say with the Broncos .
That’s the thing; Im not opposed to taking a traits prospect, but we are in a situation (due to our inept FO) that we need a walk-in starter at pick #12, not a project. Not a fan. I'm not sure how the Aggies coaches are, but I have to imagine being a big school $ wise they could have somewhat competent positional coaches to develop players. But who knows, I sure as hell don't lol
He may look like Tarzan, but his production has been poor. I've watched some breakdowns of him, and while he's gotten pressures, I still feel he's more of a project than polished player.
I would not be a fan of drafting him at #12. If we are drafting DL in the 1st, give me a DT, even as a small reach over a DE.
Dallas could be fine with Fowler, Parsons, Williams, Turner, Kneeland etc... But the DT spot is pitiful
I don’t agree with this at allI. In general, not even in a way advocating for Stewart. That’s the thing; Im not opposed to taking a traits prospect, but we are in a situation (due to our inept FO) that we need a walk-in starter at pick #12, not a project.
we should not be risking a first rd pick on another potential projectI don’t agree with this at allI. In general, not even in a way advocating for Stewart.
1 rookie, especially in this draft class, isn’t turning this team into a serious Super Bowl contender. We shouldn’t be sacrificing future high end potential to fill a hole with a safe starter
