Hopefully Tyron didn’t ask for a signing bonus.I heard Stephen was against this signing because of the salary cap implications

Zack is a first ballot lock. Not so sure about Tyron. Maybe the second or third ballot for him. He missed a lot of games the last half of his career. Don’t see two Cowboys being part of the same HOF class. They will both go into the Hall of Fame together.
Tyron's accolades are almost identical to Orlando Pace who was a 2nd ballot so I definitely think 2nd or 3rd ballot is realistic.Zack is a first ballot lock. Not so sure about Tyron. That would kinda invalidate that "generous to the Steelers" theory, wouldn't it?Alan Faneca who got in a few years ago has almost the exact same accolades as Martin but 1. Won a superbowl and 2. Played for a franchise that Canton is very generous too (Steelers) and he was still a 6th ballot hall of famer. No that's not a typo, 6th ballot !
There’s absolutely NO DOUBT that Zack Martin will get in on the first ballot and you can BOOK IT! In his 11 seasons he was named All-Pro 7 times. He’s one of the all time greats at his position.Zack I'm actually not sure. The hall of fame literally HATES interior lineman so first ballot is rare.
Very true about interior OLTyron's accolades are almost identical to Orlando Pace who was a 2nd ballot so I definitely think 2nd or 3rd ballot is realistic.

No that's not a typo, 6th ballot !Randal McDaniel (Guard) they have listed as a 12x pro bowler and 9x first team all pro and they still refused to make him first ballot. Hell, last year Yanda who was a unanimous all decade team selection (which is the same voting committee that votes for Canton) they choose to not pick him and pick only 3 modern finalists when they are allowed a 4th no questions asked.
That's why I don't think Martin gets first ballot; they are intentionally not allowing it.
Offense and defense combined there's only been 3 interior lineman enshrined first ballot in the last 30 years. Arguably the hardest of the main positions to get in for some odd reason. I know DT, Guard, and Center aren't sexy positions but show some respect !
I agree but that's not how Canton works. There is no logic or reason behind it, it literally doesn't matter if someone is an all-time great at their position if they don't like the position you play. There’s absolutely NO DOUBT that Zack Martin will get in on the first ballot and you can BOOK IT! I disagree there’s positions the HOF doesn’t like. That’s nonsense. There’s certain positions that are tougher to get in the HOF than others. It doesn’t get any better at guard than Zack Martin. He made 9 Pro Bowls and 9 times an All Pro with 7 first team All Pros. He’s a first ballot LOCK!I agree but that's not how Canton works. The last guard to make the hall of fame was a 6x First team all pro with a Superbowl ring and he still waited 6 years to get in.
Nice stats.
- 2× First-team All-Pro (2014, 2016)
- 3× Second-team All-Pro (2013, 2015, 2023)
- 8× Pro Bowl (2013–2019, 2021)
- NFL 2010s All-Decade Team
- PFWA All-Rookie Team (2011)
- Morris Trophy (2010)
- First-team All-Pac-10 (2010)
Tyron put in more high level seasons at T than Zack did at G. Tyron should get in first. Not saying that will happen but it better reflects the level of play.Zack is a first ballot lock. You’re wrong. No one on our OL played at a higher level and was more consistent than Zack who many felt was the best player on the team during his prime.Tyron put in more high level seasons at T than Zack did at G. In what way am I wrong? You’re wrong. No one on our OL played at a higher level and was more consistent than Zack who many felt was the best player on the team during his prime.
I think he should be but I'm trying to tell you Canton historically doesn't think that way and the only thing that matters is their votes not what you or I think. The last Guard they enshrined was 9x pro bowl 8x all pro with 6 first teams (so almost identical to Martin) plus had a Superbowl ring and he was still 6th ballot.......He made 9 Pro Bowls and 9 times an All Pro with 7 first team All Pros. He’s a first ballot LOCK!
