I think it's clear, the Cowboys aren't going OL early in the draft

So the thought popped into your brain to start a new thread about this???
You don't want me to post the thoughts I have of you!!

Round of applause to the other posters on here who actually added some intellect to this post! I love Mike fish lol

Cowboys at one time had Fredrick, Smith, Martin and Collins on the Oline. That’s 3 First rounders and Collins should have been a first. Didn’t win a thing. Why because the Defense sucked. How about developing guys instead of spending high rounders on the Oline.

His contract says otherwise.
The offseason activity suggests otherwise as well. They signed a bunch of 1 year low end starters to push Hoffman. If they felt like they could just pencil in Hoffman as RG1 I bet they would have looked at more developmental guys for down the depth chart.

You ain't never seen a team draft a Guard or Tackle and it makes them contenders overnight.

O-line is what you build when you have the important positions locked up.
But mountaineer- we have the most important position locked up at 60 mil a year...and he has us locked up too, and Jerry and his moron son should be locked up for that dumb contract

He currently only has 12 threads on the front page so he’s slacking today. He has a lot of making up to do.

I noticed the board will jump on other players and not call out Zack.
 Apples and oranges.
Last season was close to being the worst of his career. Many, if not most, posters have posted similar tone. So I'm not sure where the board not calling out Martin is coming from. Besides, you comparing him to "other players" is odd. He's a future first ballot HOFer.......I'm sure you will agree he's going to get the benefit of the doubt every time.

Martin's body betrayed him last season and he graded out near the bottom of the league. That's how he knew it was time to retire.

Hoffman is a nice option and I love the attitude he plays with, but to be honest, he didn't really have to do a lot to be better than 2024 Martin.
He was perfectly fine though. Him being the starter in 2025 wouldn't worry me at all.

The Cowboys will be looking for a WR/RB combo in the first three rounds. They would probably grab a CB or DT with the other.

Recent signings suggest they are trying to put a band-aid on the RG position for now.
I think it suggests that we want competition at that position. You cannot have expensive signings at every position. Hoffman played alright and was nasty. We have decent competition for him.

Last year people would have said that Becton was a band-aid for the Eagles.

They will probably still take an OT or OG in the draft.
But it will be on day three.
Or they could just like an UDFA and go that route as it has worked for them before.

But with taking Oline with Two of the first three picks last year. With them signing multiple Oline players, even if they are depth at best, it does seem clear they plan on trotting out Hoffman or whoever among their group can beat him out.

This..... yeah, it appears they will give Hoffman a chance but not w/o competition.
