Took my wife's daughter' son to join the Army, North Carolina , Fort Bragg. Road trip.

A cool way to help him. But what is something I did not know? He is going to make $1,800 a month while in training. lol. When I was joined up, $87.00 a month.

Army Strong.

I made 800 back in 2001. About what I'm would make at McDonalds. Big pay bumps came fast after OEF/OIF

I did a year when I got recalled in 2008. We stopped at a grocery store on our way back from their annual training and I went off on one of the boots in jest about how much he made compared the when I was a boot in front of the whole store.

Was that including Airborne pay?

I meant your pay back then. I know my grandfather got a stipend back in the 50's for airborne
Like I said, this coming week will only be his second week in the Army. Once he goes Airborne then I might be able to answer your question.

I did my Ranger training at Fort Benning, Georgia.

I meant when you were in the Army did you get a stipend for being Airborne

I'm glad it was renamed Ft.Bragg again.
Fort Liberty, North Carolina, was renamed back to Fort Bragg on March 7, 2025. This change, while returning to the original name, now honors Army Pfc. Roland L. Bragg, a World War II hero, rather than Confederate General Braxton Bragg.

Sorry for your hurt feelings…

The militias helped win the revolutionary war .if not for them you would be speaking the Queens English. :) Both my grandfathers served in WWII .One in the Army, His ship survived kamikazes to take him to the south Pacific where he survived Japanese snipers. One in the Navy shipped out of Pearl Harbor a month before December 7th. They are my heros.

You can still pay tribute to your heroes at your townie militia cosplays.
