Surprise First Round Player(s)?

Bradyn Swinson. Just checks all the boxes at edge despite not being elite at any one thing. Sometimes teams would rather make sure they hit a single than swing for the fences.

How would you feel if the Cowboys selected Grey Zabel in the 1st (either at 12 or trade back)? Our OL isn't bad but it's not good either. Adding Zabel to go along with Smith and Beebe could help transform the unit into one of the better OL in the league and help with the idea of being a violent physical team that leans on the running game. I know we have signed some OL in FA but they are nothing to write home about, basically camp bodies to compete as to let the best man win.
Zabel would walk right in and be penciled in as Martins replacement. How farfetched is it that the Cowboys take him at 12? I see 18 as a real possibility to Seattle.

No thanks.

Much more glaring needs IMO.

Between Hoffman, Bass, Jones and Charles RG is the least of my concerns

I agree, but I read something yesterday from SI NFL insider Danial Jerremiah "claims that the talk around the league is the Cowboys have done a lot of work on interior OL, and I'm hearing they want to trade back".
It just made me think on how the Cowboys always seem to do what we wouldn't think they would do. It wouldn't surprise me one bit.

My issue is, is if you’re not getting Campbell or membou you can wait on OL

They may like Banks around 20

The only OL I see them trading back for in the 1st is Zabel. But getting an extra pick, a 2nd or a 3rd, depending how far back they drop, could be where they look for interior OL. (give me that extra 2nd for Donavan Jackson and DT Collins)

I have no idea what surprises we see. But if it happens, I want it to be the Giants that do it. I was giddy when they picked Jones at #6. It made up for us not having a #1 that year.

It happens often. Cole Strange, Travis Frederick, etcetera. Who is your surprise first round pick for 2025?
Grey Zabell
Jonah Savaiiea
TreVeyon Henderson
Trey Amos
Jayden Higgins
Tai Felton
Tate Ratledge
Carson Schweisinger
Jaydon Blue
Aireontae Ersery
Xavier Watts
Maxwell Hairston
Donavan Ezeiruaku

It happens every year when a team likes someone that’s not part of the crowd. How many Olineman have the Gents taken through the years where everyone went wth?!

Yep. I can see all these guys going way earlier than projected by the media.
