Yeah,. yeah, some will say I reached in the first round. But I'd argue against that. Kenneth Grant is the kind of player we need if we're trying to stop the run and would help Parsons tremendously.

This mock isn't as flashy, but my goal was to make the team competitive this year. I've come to the conclusion recently that WR isn't the problem. We have Lamb after all.

In this draft, I did not trade down and resisted the urge to draft McMillan (he was there).

If you don't like it, well, I may do one more before draft day. Or maybe not.

Instead, I focused on putting players around our best player, Micah Parsons. I think this makes us better now, and sets us up for the future as well.

No trades since I don't think it's going to happen anyway.

One thing is for sure, there are some nice players I this draft, just not a strong class of first rounders.

I can't say I'd be pleased with the Grant pick at 12. If we're going to reach for a DT there, I'd rather it be Derrick Harmon.

Brugler has Harmon at 16 and Grant at 25 in his rankings.

I hear you. I just like Grant better, personally. I knew some wouldn't like it.

I also drafted two others. DT is our biggest weakness by far.

Well, some say the players from our spot on down are just a matter of preference. I just feel that Harmon is a solid run-stopper who adds more as a pass rusher than Grant does. Grant is somewhat like Mazi coming out. He offers a stout presence against the run but isn't going to get much pressure. He gets off the snap better than Mazi, though, which likely means he won't bust.

Count me out on this one. No CB? Are we really set to roll with Bland and a bunch of misfits? No WR or stud TE to take heat off Lamb? I appreciate the work and the thought but this draft would have me super depressed

Free agency and we can't rebuild the team in one draft...

Fair enough. Just going a different route...more like what I see them doing.

Can’t see Knight falling that far especially with the depth at that position this year
It's just he was there and I really like him. I think they're definitely drafting LBs this year for Elberflus. Just a matter of when. If not, I see them adding at least a couple more in FA.

Also, this is a strong DT class. I like all three I drafted. Riley Mills is gonna be a player.

Stopping the run and running the ball. Sometimes football is pretty easy.
Huge fan of the first 2 picks.
I'd have gotten a 3T defensive tackle in the 3rd but the Cowboys decision makers wouldn't.

Your first 2 picks improve this team far better than a wide receiver and corner that's for sure.

Thoughts on Rylie Mills and Cam Horsley?

Horsley could be a hos for a late rounder.

With 10 picks, my aim is 3 DTs and 2 RBs.

I almost went with Elijah Simmons there in 7 because he could develop into a player. Just not enough statistical production, so I went with Cam.

I think Rylie Mills is gonna be good. This is the year to get our DTs.

My advice to the Cowboys is do not miss out. These DT drafts don't come along often.

Mills tore his ACL late in the season just like CB Huzzie from UNC. They would both be 4th round players if not for their injuries. Since the Cowboys have addressed 3-tech by resigning OSA and picking up Solomon, I don't really see 3-tech as a need. That's the main reason why I stopped mocking 3-Tech Norman-Lott to Dallas, I think he will be a player in the league. Maybe, grab an UDFA like O'Malley, NIU or Patrick Jenkins, Tulane. If Mills is still there in the late 7th take him and stash him until he is healthy; that's an option.

Horsley is a guy the Cowboys have been looking at. 7th round sure, it makes sense. He has upside as a pass rusher but he is best as a run stopper.

They'll be looking primarily at stopping the run this draft. The more I look at the team, the more I see we need a RB and maybe a TE. But WR isn't really a need, per se.

I would find players who have instincts to stop the run. We have our pass rushers, imo.
